Really good (still feel like there's a gear we haven't hit on both sides of the ball) game.

Jaden McDaniels, deadpan delivery, on what worked for the Timberwolves offensively.
Jaden: Go at Jokic, Jamal, all the bad defenders. Tim Hardaway, Cam Johnson, Aaron Gordon, their whole team.”
Q: They’re all bad defenders?
Jaden: “Yeah, they’re all bad defenders.”

Haha, I love it...also very impressed that our guy Q was in the locker room to ask Jaden the question!kekgeek wrote: ↑Tue Apr 21, 2026 1:10 am Jaden McDaniels, deadpan delivery, on what worked for the Timberwolves offensively.

Check out the post game interviews on Dane's Twitter. Julius is classic...he's sitting next to Ant wearing a white shirt and tie, and chuckling to himself every time Ant says something Georgia-incomprehensible. Rudy is also classic...as Finchy suggested, he was pissed that he didn't finish in the top 3 in DPOY, even though he said he wasn't. But when they asked him how he was able to stop Jokic over and over in the final minutes, he said something like "I was lucky...only a top 3 defensive player can stop Jokic!".

Thanks for the shout-out FNG! It was fun talking to the guys until they realized I didn't have press credentials. I must say, those Denver security guys do NOT have good manners and need some sort of customer sensitivity training. And Jon Krawczyski is even shorter than I thought....FNG wrote: ↑Tue Apr 21, 2026 7:50 amHaha, I love it...also very impressed that our guy Q was in the locker room to ask Jaden the question!kekgeek wrote: ↑Tue Apr 21, 2026 1:10 am Jaden McDaniels, deadpan delivery, on what worked for the Timberwolves offensively.

That quote by Rudy is so damn good.

Just watched back the full replay, and I just have so much respect for the hustle and physicality the Wolves played with wire to wire (well...2nd qtr wire).
The message was clear, make them work for everything. The biggest hat tip is to Jaden, just being able to stay with and win that assignment against Jamal while still being a plus on offense - he was completely unrelenting and it wore Murrary down. Ant, Ayo, and Donte with the assist too because while they didn't limit him as much, they still hounded him and made him work.
I just love that mentality, that even if they score on you, just remain focused and gritty enough to stay with it all game. Even Naz in the 3rd, yeah Jokic, backed him down and got buckets, but Naz still stayed physical even when he was clearly overmatched and I just respect the hell out of that.
Awesome game, awesome win. Donte is the dawgiest dawg of all the dawgs

I both love this, and kind of don't. It's never a good idea to poke the bear and provide bulletin board material. We might see some inspired defense from guys like Gordon and Brown Thursday.kekgeek wrote: ↑Tue Apr 21, 2026 1:10 am Jaden McDaniels, deadpan delivery, on what worked for the Timberwolves offensively.

I'm just happy there is only two days off between games two and three this season. Two years ago there was three full days off between games, giving Denver plenty of time to completely change their offense and put Gordon as the lead guard to protect Murray who we were seat belting. They had that clip show of all the national guys counting them out playing on loop in the Denver locker room, that pumped them up coming into game three. Man I wish we had found a way to keep NAW just for this series.FNG wrote: ↑Tue Apr 21, 2026 10:07 amI both love this, and kind of don't. Re: Time to punch back. . .again Wolves at Nuggets GAME TWO GDT
I fell asleep when we got down big, so finished watching early this morning. Very surprised how we came back. Bit shocked actually. I had a nightmare of walking through a forest and giant trees falling down all around and trying to crush me, they kept falling and I kept running. I feel like it was related to how the Wolves were playing.
Watching postgame I'm a bit disappointed how the team handled the win. I still think they don't know how to win or lose. Hyping themselves up a bit too much and trash talking Denver is a recipe for a game 3 disaster. Now if you can back it up, let's see. But historically, championship teams stay quiet and smack you during the game. No need to talk after.

I get what you are saying but I don’t think any comments are going to make the nuggets want to win more or play harder. They will already to self motivate so this does not scare me one bitFNG wrote: ↑Tue Apr 21, 2026 10:07 amI both love this, and kind of don't.
