I'll pass on Okafor, I don't like his fit here. After thinking for a few minutes, i'll pass on Russell as he's not a great fit here either.. For our team, I'd take any of WCS, Winslow, Johnson, or Turner though. Any of them would fit nicely with what we have.

As for Marvin Williams, I'm not interested. He's been an underachiever his entire career. He's already 30 years old and he's had a history of back problems. Further, if we're going to sign a PF or C, he should help us on the boards. Williams is not much of a rebounder for a PF, averaging 5 rebounds in nearly 29 minutes per game over his career. If we're going to sign a big, I'd sign Cole Aldrich. I think he's underrated and under-utilized by the Clippers. He wouldn't cost much to sign and he'd give us some size and rebounding at the 5. He's averaged 3.7 rebounds in only 11 minutes per game over his career to date. He'd be great reasonably priced insurance against the prospect that Pek can't play.

I agree on Williams. Not the player we want to throw big money at. I also like the Aldrich idea, assuming we keep him around 10-15 mins a game. There are a lot of options this offseason, and avoiding the top tier, we should be able to find a couple very good deals. There are tons of players at each position i'd like to target early while everyone else chases the superstars.

C - Cole Aldrich, Robert Sacre, Boban Marjanovic, Kevin Seraphin, Jason Smith, JJ Hickson, Jordan Hill

PF - Darrell Arthur, Trevor Booker, James Johnson, Jon Leuer, Thomas Robinson, Mirza Teletovic, Marreese Speights

SF - Jared Dudley, Alonzo Gee, Jeff Green, Solomon Hill,

SG - Aaron Afflalo, Wayne Ellington, Gerald Henderson, Courtney Lee, E'Twaun Moore, Gary Neal, Brandon Rush, Hollis Thompson, Marcus Thornton

PG - DJ Augustin, Norris Cole, Ronnie Price, Donald Sloan, Ish Smith, Matthew Delladova, Brian Roberts

Adding any 3 of those players on team friendly deals would be great this offseason. Of course, it would be nice to get a Deng/Noah package, but i'll settle for these type of deals as well.

I wouldn't pay retail for Russell. There is a very good chance a new coach will want to dump him because of the "Swaggy-P" incident.

Yeah, he has talent, but im not sure anyone would want the BS that comes with him.

Kind of a neat flip the script thing from Harrison Barnes here. Sounds like he also really likes Oakland.

Nice to hear more positive messages from these athletes.

That being said, Barnes is NOT a guy I want for the Wolves.....based on performance. Many on here have hinted that Barnes will get a max deal. When I watch him, I see a marginally talented role player. I realize the cap is going up, but someone signing a guy like Barnes to $20MM+ will be a potentially (maybe likely) crippling deal down the road. He just doesn't have the talent to live up to the expectations that come with a max deal. He is a middle of the road role player.

Is there any Celtics you would trade the 5th pick for or package of players and picks?

Sadly, KG and his 8 million for what could be 15 minutes a game IF healthy, sounds like a bargain

I'm on record here as not being in love with any of the players that will be available at 5, and intrigued by several players slated to go later in the first round or early second. For that reason I would trade #5 for #16, #23 and either 31 or 35. Frankly, I wouldn't even need the second round pick to do the deal. 82games.com values 16 and 23 higher than 5 in a normal year, and I see this as more of a deep than top-loaded draft, making the deal even more skewed in our favor.

Wolves do the deal because of the better value. Boston does the deal because they have too many draft picks, and it's exciting to have # 3 and 5, plus at least one in the second round.
