We better score 130 a game because that froncourt is giving up a lot of points.
is he that bad defensively? You'd think with his height and impressive foot speed for a 7 footer he could at least improve at team defense
Scouting report from nbadraft.net:
"Off ball Defense needs work, since at times he is too focused on the ball and loses sight of the player he is guarding... He must improve on Post Defense, learn how to use his body and not get bullied by physical players... Weak side defense is also an issue since at times he is just a step too slow to help... It's really difficult to imagine him becoming an elite shot blocker due to his average wingspan and inability to jump high from a standing position ... He has problems defending when he is asked to switch and has to guard an explosive perimeter player since his lateral quickness is just OK for now..."
I'm hoping we get some lottery luck and move up so we'd have a chance at Josh Jackson (assuming his character issues are not a problem). I think he would fit what we have the best. Good defender (which we need on the wing because both Zach and Wiggins are subpar defenders. Good rebounder (again, we need this next to Wiggins). Can score when needed but he's an unselfish passer who can handle the ball (again, we've got scorers on this team, but we need to unlock more passing, and it helps that he could handle the ball on the wing next to Wiggins). Just a good fit all around.
I know it's all premature until lottery night. But just glancing over some of these prospects, I imagine Jackson would fit in best. Could help move Wiggins down to the 2 more, maybe bring LaVine off the bench if he plays his role well. That would definitely make our second unit more dangerous (assuming LaVine bounces back from the injury well).

Drew, I'm not disputing your comment about Zach and Wig being subpar defenders...the numbers don't lie, and KAT has to be included in this group too. But weren't all three of these guys considered plus defenders in college. I know KAT was, I believe Wig was, and I recall Lip saying Flip told him Zach was the best on-ball defender in the draft that year. If that's true, what does it say about the defensive coaching ability of Sam Mitchell and Tom Thibodeau? How has our coaching staff managed to turn three solid defensive layers into defensive buffoons?
Let's get something straight. If we end up with Josh Jackson and he starts next to Wiggins, he's going to get his ass handed to him on a nightly basis. Sure, three or four years from now, perhaps he can help. But how many times do we need to see these 19 year olds come here and get killed defensively before learning our lesson? They are a massive liability.

Yep. If we do draft a guy I would want Jackson but he will be a liability next year.

Players like him scare me, a guy who is not a good shooter but takes advantage of his athleticism against college players. Look at Dunn, Elfrid Payton and Mudiay (I understand he played in China). There are players like Westbrook that turn out but fox scares me
Isaac has the length and athleticism to be a great fit. He is a good three point shooter and slasher plus he rebounds and plays D. He's a lunch pail guy and frankly, I think he might be a better fit than Jackson here. But I don't think we could go wrong with either one.

Ricky I know we disagree a lot on this board but I also love isaac, I am really hoping we get a top 3 pick so we can trade back get vet help and draft Issac. I am worried how skinny he is but I love his game so much
