Any interest in trading the 6th pick to Denver for Kenneth Faried? Wouldn't help with floor spacing, but he's a tough, relentless rebounder.
What about the 6th pick to Boston for Jae Crowder? Literally the perfect 3 and D player to have mixed in with LaVine and Wiggins. Boston then flips both first rounders and Avery Bradley for Jimmy Butler/Paul George.
6th pick for Tobias Harris? Provides floor spacing. Detroit may want to shuffle the roster a bit.
Swing a trade for John Henson? Would provide rim protection. On a good contract. Don't think it would take much with the emergence of Thon Maker.
Just spitballin' ideas. Any of these interest anyone?
Some interesting ideas, Brightside. But I don't think I'd go for any of them if I were Thibs. I've always been a big fan of Faried. But he's been having back trouble lately. That scares me. Back issues rarely get better, especially in a big athlete approaching age 30. You'll note his minutes have declined in recent years. So I'd pass on any Faried deal. Harris is intriguing as a potential scorer, but I don't like his defense and slow feet. I'd rather end up with Isaac, Monk or Zach Collins. Henson is the most intriguing as someone we might be able to get without giving up our pick. He's definitely a shot-blocker. The problem is that's all he is. And other than shot-blocking he's physically weak and easily bullied in the paint so overall he's a poor defender. At $12.5 million per year, I'm not sure I'd want him even if we could get him in a swap for Adrian Payne.
For all of Faried's rebounding and high motor, he's been a really ineffective defender over the years. It seems sort of weird because he has all the physical attributes to be a good one. I just think he has a horrible defensive IQ.

Veteran presence, defensive mindset, been on winning teams, can hit the wide open 3 fairly consistently, rebounds like a real small forward as opposed to Wiggins and Rush, etc., etc.. Yeah, he's not going to single-handedly win us 8 more games, but he can definitely be part of the solution.
Very confused by your rebounding comment.
Thabo averages 3.9 rebounds per game and Wiggins averaged 4.1 rebounds per game
That's only because Wiggins plays a lot more minutes. As we've discussed many times, Wiggins is an anemic rebounder for a small forward, but as a shooting guard, it becomes much less of an issue. Go look at their rebound percentages or rebounds per 36 minutes; Thabo is much better. He also gets more steals. I think starting Thabo next to Wiggins would be a good look. Same with PJ Tucker.

Heh, indeed! Is that your kid's drawing or something? Good stuff.
I'm with Q on Sefolosha as probably the best realistic FA target for the Wolves. I'm excluding Millsap as unrealistic even though he'd definitely be a needle-mover as a FA acquisition.
I also think Sefolosha is more realistic and probably a bit cheaper than Tucker. From what I've read, the Raptors traded for Tucker with an intent to keep him and an understanding that he'd likely sign with them long term. And I think Tucker would be inclined to choose a current contender like the team he's with over a perennial lottery-dweller with potential he doesn't know. Sefolosha, on the other hand, is with a team that is definitely going nowhere. For the right offer, he might relish a situation like ours where we he can be a key veteran piece helping a very talented young core take the next step.
Short of an improbable creative trade, I think the best the Wolves could do realistically this summer would be signing Sefolosha and Pachulia. Those two guys would improve our wing and interior defense. They would also bring toughness and a valuable veteran presence. Add Monk in the draft for perimeter shooting and move forward.

And I worry in today's NBA his defense gets even worse. I'll add that part of the reason Fariid doesn't get minutes is Denver is LOADED with bigs and Hernangomez as a rookie was pretty good. I'd give up something to get Fariid (if healthy since Lip brought up some back concerns) but not our first round pick and beyond that I have no clue what Denver would want. They have plenty of talent all the way through their roster although their SF depth could take a big hit if Chandler and Gallo leave.

It does seem Tucker is a guy that has more hype around him that Sefalosha. Having said that I didn't think Jared Dudley was going to be a guy that got a lot of money and the Suns gave him 3 years 30 million which probablynwas somewhat of anoverpay to get him there but still. So...I have no idea what we would have to do and the cap is going up a decent chunk this year teams are going to spend.
I think signing Zaza is a bad idea for this team because I think we have guys that can play C. If we get that type of guy solid player it needs to be a mobile PF. If Belly isn't healthy we have Towns as the most mobile PF on the roster. That's honestly terrifying.

I like Jared Dudley. That being said... how happy is Utah that they chose Joe Johnson over him? It came down to those two...
Jared Dudley just isn't the type to do what Johnson has done for Utah in this series. He's saved the Jazz season... twice in 4 games.
I wouldn't hate Dudley here. He's the type to bounce around A LOT... but he claims to have embraced the mentorship role. And he can hit the three at about a 40% clip in relatively limited attempts. The $10M per year doesn't concern me at this point. They have money to burn.
I would be willing to give Zo Bo big $ for a year to come here. Anchor the bench and provide physical toughness. Milsap is the guy I would really want. Not a fan of multi-year contract on Ibaka or some of these other guys.

Knowing it's his last big deal...
I'd think the number of years would be important for Randolph... or he'd be ring-chasing... either way... probably wouldn't work here.
