I'm not against trading for an Ace but I want to see the Twins actually develop another top of the rotation pitcher of their own. That's part of why Falvey was hired here. Cleveland said they were going to miss him and good gravy they just keep turning out starters.

Yes the twins need to go 2 for 3 when it comes to Graterol, Jordy Blaze and Duran. If they go 3 for 3 we're World Series bound.

I think we need a true ACE on this team. I wouldn't trade our top 2 starting pitching prospects for one though. Royce's value drops a lot in my eyes if he is not playing SS. I reminds me of Mauer moving from catcher to 1B.

Sign a veteran and wait two months till end of May or begging of June and call up Kirilloff. Same thing the Indians did with Mecardo this year.

Works for me.

What % would you put on coaching, player, vs luck?

I think another thing that would show strong management would be if they traded them while they still had high value and they determined they wouldn't be top end starters before anyone else had figured it out.

Some percentage should be how good the organization is overall which helps producing better players up and down the organization even vets. Of course the reality is that the percentages of these factors vary from player to player.

Ok maybe now I am starting to get worried about Berrios.

Jake Cave crushing it right now. It's only a matter of time before Jester wants Rosario traded away for a starting pitcher his offseason and Cave starting in the OF. :)

Hey this Sano guy looks good.

Lol your right :) but I did even think when Bleed asked about who would play left field they could put Cave in. Cave is what he is. A left hander with some decent pop who's can smash right handed pitching an a below average defender in the outfield. I was listening to Gleeman and he said he just doesn't get and me either. Why his defensive stats are so bad he has good speed and a decent enough arm but just lacks something you can't teach which is baseball instincts. Example he's misplayed the bounce off the right field wall 3 times this week.

Edit: also every time Jake Cave does something well I feel like hear a whisper from monster in my ear. I Told You So lol

Jose Rameriez on the IL with a hamate bone injury. If your wondering this same injury Stanton had in 2015 with the Marlins which put him out 7 weeks so most likely his season is done.

I was wondering what the injury was. I saw the swing on the condensed game. Its too bad for some reason I just like watching that guy play.

Just to be clear pretty much every time I mention Cave and a positive its all in good fun. All of us were saying he wasn't good enough. a few weeks ago. Nobody here wants him to play badly.

I'm not sure Cave is a bad defensive outfielder but IMO his problem is he just plays too aggressively. He needs to iron him self out in the field...kinda like he did with his bat. He has made some pretty good plays on balls that were unlikely to be made. Marwin made a Cave like play the other day charging in and letting the ball get past him. Sometimes we forget Cave is 26 in his 2nd season and has played 141 MLB games. There is still a chance he actually puts it together more. I'm not planning on it but this latest stretch is encouraging (still small sample size) especially since he hasn't been getting regular (everyday) playing time. Good teams have guys like Cave step up and help out.
