The DLO hate has long disappeared from this board for the most part as his play and impact on team performance has validated Rosas (and Cam's) faith in him as a player. So not sure why there is even an axe to grind on that front anymore.

I think there are still legitimate questions about his next contract and he is by no means a perfect player. But there is no question he was absolutely key to turning this team around during the regular season and helping us win the play-in game.

Pat Bev doesn't seem to mind putting a target on the Wolves. Ahahaha. I usually am not fan of this behavior, but I guess Pat Bev has awoken my own inner troll.

Unless Kawhi comes back at 80-90% or better starting in a few days, there's no way we face the Clippers in the playoffs. They'd have to get through the Suns, we'd have to get through the Grizz, and then, I think because of seeding, we'd also both need to win the next series as well.

Of all PatBev's questionable decisions, I think his choice of a postgame beverage was the most objectionable.

Skip ahead to about 2:30 and you can see it in the lower left.

Seriously? A Bud Light? I mean, I guess it's consistent with his blue-collar character, but somebody get that man a decent beer.

Ahahaha. That's hilarious. I wonder if Budweiser became cool to drink in the NBA after The Last Dance? MJ and Pippen had the excuse of there being hardly any better alternatives. Thanks for that interview clip btw. I liked how Pat Bev didn't fall into the common reaction of ridiculing the glue woman. I didn't care for the prayer part, but the overall message was quite thoughtful.

It did really look like product placement!

I remember noting the beer drinking too during The Last Dance (wasn't it big cans too?). That and the cigar smoking. Like, I'm all for a beer, but in the locker room or during the press conference right after the game? Just weird. You need to rehydrate first! And the cigar smoking? Just don't get that. I guess it's supposed to be some kind of symbol of wealth and privilege, so if you achieve success, smoking one is like indulging in a luxury that you earned. And doing it in public is like a way of showing that you're celebrating how you won.

Either way, if I'm gonna drink a beer right after winning a game, get me a Bell's Two Hearted!

I watched this game earlier this morning here are my thoughts.

I did think they could have done something more when Towns was getting g double teamed. I'll say this though when the Wolves were struggling to score they were playing some defense to keep themselves in the game.

I thought brining in Nowell as a sub when lately that's been McLauhlin was a good move. They needed offense and after the game I was thinking about it more and all the guards on the floor were guys that are bigger or play big. Nowell gave them a few good minutes to keep the game within reach.

Not calling the dphble tech was absolute BULL SHIT. Both guys were at each other the idea that Beverly was the instigator is ridiculous they were both at fault. Other than that I thought the officiating evened up being even. Some questionable calls both ways...ok PG was pushing guys around but I did think the Wolves for the benefit of a couple calls here and there. Regardless they overcame a lot.

Lots of angst towards Towns. Yep some dumb fouls hit I also don't really mind the offensive ones. One thing he has done well for many games now is attack the basket. He has to continue to be smarter but I'm honestly not worried about Towns. He is simply too good of a player to not bounce back from this.

I haven't been watching all the games but I'm his game report Lip gave an honorable mention. I personally have seen a guy that looks like his game is more rounded out. He doesn't look like a defensive liability. He also makes quick decisions with the ball and he had that nice drive to to a finish in the paint in this game. He isn't a complete player but looks more well rounded so that he can do more to help win than just hit 3's. The Clippers may not have attacked him this game because they were going at Towns. I'll be interested to see how things go in the playoffs for him and other players like Vanderbilt.

Edwards...dude played great on both ends of the ball. They kept saying Towns is the best player...Edwards looked like the best player on both ends to me...I mean obviously with Towns not playing well and fouling out but damn Edwards was the real deal.

Russell was terrific.

The Wolves also won without Prince available. That's pretty good. McDaniels was a little uneven in his performance but he did enough good things to help out.

Beverly dude ended up helping to close that game out with his D. He was a huge addition.

Naz didn't put up amazing stats but he did enough to help the team get this win. The Clippers are a good matchup for him because they don't really play anyone if other than Zubac. Monroe may end up having a shot at some minutes against Memphis.

Interesting in the TNT post game Ernie asked the guys for thoughts on the upcoming Wolves Grizz series. Barkley immediately said if he had to choose a winner he'd pick Memphis but went back on it shortly thereafter. He and Shaq chose the Wolves because even though they play dumb, talent trumps smart basketball. Kenny Smith was almost beside himself with that take and asked who is the most talented player in the series (implying Morant) and Chuck started to say Anthony Edwards but was interrupted and didn't go back to it. They also thought Memphis would have some real pressure to overcome since they have never been favored in a series before.

Yeah, I saw the same segment Phenom. They felt the Wolves had more talent and were playing with house money, so the pressure is more on the Grizzlies since this is the year they need to take the proverbial "next step" and advance in the playoffs.

I kind of go with Kenny. There is no effing way you become the 2nd seed in the West with just one star and a bunch of well coached guys. This team is deep with talented, smart players. Hell, just look how well they played without Morant! They were incredible!

It should have been mentioned on the broadcast that Minnesota was 2-2 against Memphis this season. They were two meltdowns -- or two fourth quarter comebacks -- away from being 4-0 against the Grizzlies.

This is all to say that Minnesota's played Memphis very well this year and shouldn't be an easy first-round opponent despite it being a No. 2 vs. No. 7 matchup. If the Wolves can just slow down Tyus Jo-- err, Ja Morant, and not get absolutely hammered on the glass, then I think they have a solid chance of getting the series upset.

To go along with that wolves have defended Ja really well this season. KOC said today that the Wolves run a blitz style of defense against PnRs and Ja has been the 2nd least effective against this defense out of 18 players who have had 250 opportunities

Right, this is the matchup where not playing drop coverage and having the big "at the level" has paid off the most.

I have this series as pretty even. One thing that's interesting about this series is neither team has an experience advantage. Each team has a valued vet with plenty of playoff experience and that's mostly it. Both teams are high scoring, high pace squads that do play defense. Both teams have coaches that have really done well. It should be a fun series to watch regardless if you are a fan of either franchise.

Ernie mentioned the 2-2 record and Charles alluded to how the team defends Morant. He said since Morant only averaged 20 per game against the Wolves that they have something figured out against him.
