I'm listening to the podcast of yesterday's In The Zone hoping for some update about Dunn, but they haven't mentioned his concussion at all. It's been over 2 weeks since he got his concussion, and I haven't heard anything about Dunn being cleared to practice with the USA Select team. Has anybody? Concussions are a tricky thing...they often seem to clear right away, or they linger for a long time. There doesn't seem to be a great deal of middle ground. I fear that no news may be bad news in this instance. Let's hope that no news is more a reflection of the private nature of management and/or the laziness of our basketball reporters, and not an indication that his concussion is going to be a long-term problem. I wish Zgoda would pick up the phone and ask him how he's doing.

C'mon LST, Z can't be bothered to call people, re-tweeting is the norm, it's the new journalism, just let someone else do it first, and then pile on. Speaking of secrecy, are we still waiting on KG's decision? Shouldn't he know by now whether he can play? I know people on here will say it doesn't affect our plans this off-season, but I disagree. I can understand Pek's situation, he's just gonna milk 20 more million out of us. Does KG feel ok holding this team hostage? It's not the money, it's the principle.

The secrecy of the new regime is starting to bug me, BizJer. Don't get me wrong...I'm not a fan of management releasing information to the public that might cost them strategically, but I don't understand how letting us know what's going on with Dunn, Pek and KG would be harmful. My sense is that Theydon are silent more on general principal than strategy. They make their money out of our wallets, and they owe us at least some information. And frankly Zgoda et al should be hounding them, and if they are not forthcoming, tell us that.

I'm not saying Terry Ryan was perfect, but at least he understood the public were his stakeholders and deserved at least the most basic of information. Zgoda needs to ask Theydon (and report to us):

1) What exactly are the doctors telling us about Dunn's concussion? What doctors is he meeting with and how often? Is there a chance that this is a Koskie/Morneau situation, and his rookie season is in jeopardy?

2) Has Thibs or any other coach worked KG out on the court this summer, and if not, why the $#%& not? He's an employee being paid $8 million a year, and if Thibs wants to see how he's moving on the court, that's his prerogative. Thibs or someone should be accompanying KG to his orthopedic guy, and letting the public know what the prognosis is.

3) Has any coach worked out with Pek this summer? I realize he's been in Europe getting married this summer, but we are on the hook for $24 million with him, and spending another $10,000 for a first class round trip ticket to Montenegro seems to be in order.

One of two things is happening. Either management isn't on top of these three situations and really doesn't know what's going on (that would be bizarre to me), or they know substantially more than is public and they are choosing not to let the fan base know. I suspect it's the latter, because the former would be gross incompetence. I want to like the new regime so I am hoping there is a valid strategic reason we fans and season ticket holders are being left almost completely in the dark. But if the summer silence is merely blatant disregard for the fan base, I am not happy about that.

Gee, I miss Flip.

Hell, I even miss Sam

Not sure if u read but says dunn is only being held out for precautionary reasons. I think he is fine and if was regular season he would be lacing them up. Just being extra cautious.

LST man chill out.

I'll take a stab at why people haven't hounded to find out what is up with Dunn. It's some down time for them for a bit finally. Jon K didn't go to the SL because he is going to Rio for the Olympics. Zgoda is covering the Ryder cup as well. I know this is their job but man maybe it's a chance to relax a bit for a few days. Dunn having symptoms past a couple days is concerning but not that unusual. Maybe they haven't released that info because they don't want people freak if out that Dunn is gonna be brain damaged for the rest of his career or something. Look a concussion is something to be concerned about but let's not freak out. In addition there is basically zero reason to have pushed the guy. It's now been what 2 weeks since the concussion? That's not THAT long. Maybe he is fine now. Maybe he isn't. It's the offseason they aren't required to disclose medical stuff unless they have to. Heck of his parents called them up right now I don't think they wouldn't HAVE to tell them anything.

KG hasn't made his mind up till August for years so deal with it. It's a VERY sensitive situation I'm guessing Thibs and Layden are taking it very easy there. I think both guys want to be classy about dealing with KG. Both guys have been around long enough to realize what he means to the organization etc etc. Glen probably has said he wants to do everything reasonable to treat his well this time around. I doubt anyone is happy with the situation really.

Pek. Look we know the guy's career is basically over unless there is a miracle of healing and if there was it would be as close to a miracle as you could find. If he is trying to play next year which my guess he is then if I was Thibs and Layden I wouldn't be saying anything either. We know the guy is done. It's too bad. What done is done there isn't anything more to get worked over about. The guy has 2 years left on his deal and if he wants to try and come back there isn't a whole like they can do without being really nasty to the guy and I don't see either Layden or Thibs being that classless.

Let's be realistic here. Every year various organizations (both good bad in the middle) don't talk about health of various players that have question marks. It's frustrating for fans but I think it's always pretty obvious it's not a pleasant situation for the player an the team either.

Well, we wouldn't want Jay-Z to be overworked, monster :) . Come on...covering the Ryder Cup? I know he has been making that excuse for his extended vacation, but what has he really done? To the best of my knowledge, the extent of his "coverage" has been changing the Hazeltine photo on his Twitter page every 5-6 days!

You and I perhaps have different perceptions about what local sports teams owe their fan base. We pay their bills, and as stakeholders deserve to at least be getting some information...this news blackout (except for Sid's interview with Taylor) the past few weeks about three players is unacceptable. I also think it's poor marketing. The main reason the Wolves have had by far the worst attendance the past decade is poor performance, but I also think they court (pun intended) their fan base far worse than the other three franchises. It wouldn't take much for them to step up their PR, and it would go far toward increasing interest.

I get that Thibs and Leydon don't understand the bad luck we have had in town over the past decade with concussions of our local athletes...almost every instance has resulted in the athlete's career being significantly impacted or even ended...but Glen knows. Now we have a guy who has to miss almost all of SL with a concussion, and then has to miss the opportunity to work out with the Select team. With all the horrible concussion results locally, it's natural for many fans to think "here we go again". If the news is good at all, it wouldn't take much for the team to give some updates about the condition of the #5 pick...if the news is good, that is.

And the coddling of KG and Pek is absurd. Together Taylor is going to pay them well over 20% of his total payroll next year...how can their status be so uncertain just a couple months from training camp? One of our coaches should be on the court with them frequently this summer, assessing their readiness for next season. It's lazy, or sloppy, or something. Monster, you say that we know Pek is done, but that's not consistent with what the team has told us. To the best of my knowledge, the last definitive statement about Pek's condition was from Arnie Kander a few months ago, and he assured us that Pek would be ready to go by training camp. Now, we know that is not Thibs' thinking because of his conversation with my friend, but does Thibs really know?

I'm not asking for a return to the Flip era, where he perhaps talked too openly with the public and might have sacrificed some strategic advantage. But my sense is that we are going to be frustrated with what we get from Theydon, because it is far less than what I think they owe us. If they win 50 games, all will be forgotten, but as of now I'm feeling ignored.

We are gonna have to agree to disagree here which is fine.
