We ranked 22nd last year. Redskins were ranked 21st.

Minnesota saw a lot of new pieces in place along the offensive line for the 2017 season as both tackle positions and the center position were filled by new members. These moves had mixed results for the Vikings, however. Riley Reiff has been a disappointment so far for the Vikings as he was not able to replicate the level of play we got used to from him in Detroit. Rookie center Pat Elflein did show some promising signs occasionally, but still struggled and allowed more pressure on fewer snaps than guard Joe Berger. Right tackle Mike Remmers played well and was one of the better acquisitions made by the Vikings until he got moved to guard towards the end of the season - a position he had never played before - and he struggled in December and January. While the Vikings' offensive line allowed just 11 sacks, which was the third-fewest in the NFL, this was often largely due to QB Case Keenum's ability to avoid defenders and get rid of the ball before he would be taken to the ground.

I am not too surprised by this ranking because of how they ranking individual players all year. The line wasn't as good down the stretch but it was also missing some players and as different combinations which of course most teams have happening. Regardless of where Remmers ends up he is getting paid a market value if he is a solid playerwhich he was last year. They took a solid step last season shoring up the line but they have some work to do especially if they have to replace Berger at guard either because retirement (which he is reported to be contemplating) or signing elsewhere.

I would love to see them resign Berger, sign Sitton, and draft an OT. I agree with them that playing Remmers at G was not the right thing.

Did you see Fusco got signed by the Falcons? He did really well last year with 49ers. I am worried Sirles will excel once leaving too. He seemed to do well when his number was called.

I'm a big Sirles fan but I am biased. I do wonder at guard if he doesn't fit athletically what they want to do there. He might not be good enough at tackle. His versatility to be good enough at a bunch of spots will be missed if he leaves. I think the young players they have brought in actually look promising in one way or another. I think Rashod Hill is a solid player but I don't think he was quite ready for prime time as a starter.

I'm not surprised Fusco played well as long as he was healthy. They need to keep adding to what they have by adding draft picks that aren't flyers and maybe a solid free agent. If they lose Berger and Sirles they will have at least 2 spots open on that line (sounds like Easton is a lock to come back) and they need to figure out one starter.

I think a lot of people both fans and media overrated how good Elf was this year. I think the PFF was colder to being accurate. That doesn't mean he wasn't good just that he wasn't the maxing guy a lot of people said he was. I'd expect him to get better next year and be more of a guy in the average range which would be a nice step up. I don't have nightmares about this oline but it needs to have continued improvement.

Panthers love their former Vikings. Lol. Walter football didn't exactly give him a great grade. His value is being versatile and being able to fill in at a decent level at 3 spots along the line. I'm a fan of his but I'm assuming he doesn't come back and will be happy if it works out he does.
