I know we been floating Beasley or prince for Barnes but what if we traded Beverley, Okogie and layman and first for him.
They Kings could even flip Beverly or just let him play out and then have 14 mill to play with next year.
That's an intriguing idea. Monster might be right that those assets wouldn't be enough to get Barnes, but I think it could be enough. Assuming this deal is viable, i think Cam identified the reasons why the Wolves should pass on it. Unlike Cam, I think JMac is rotation ready. I also think Wright is now ready for the NBA and Nowell is solid with the ball. So I think we'd have enough ball-handling without Beverley. But losing his defense and locker room leadership would be problematic. I'm not sure I'd make the deal, but it would be tempting, especially considering Beverley's injury propensity.

It was arguably Young's worst season as a pro.
14.3 ppg / 5.1 reb / 2.8 ast / 45.1% fg / 29.2% 3fg / 15.0 PER / 0.6 VORP
He was the Wolves best player that season... after Gorgui Dieng
[Note: It makes the current season even more fun... when I look back at some of those horrific Wolves seasons.]

Look back Historically. Im pretty sure last year Jake Layman started the first two games of the year and didn't score a point lol

"It sounds like rival teams think a deal between Brooklyn and Philadelphia may be getting close. One team told me "They've kind of put other talks on hold. If that deal finally happens, then the floodgates will open around the league for a lot more to happen."

Seems inevitable at this point, right?
And Morey might even end up with his dream date after all. Likewise... IF... Simmons is the guy we've seen in the past and IF Brooklyn can get a guy like Curry, too... it may work out for them in the end, too.

Harden being able to leave if he wants to this offseason is a big driver here.
Meanwhile like you said getting Ben Simmons plus a guy like Curry could be pretty nice for the Nets. They would then have Joe Harris, Patty Mills, Seth Curry in addition to Kyrie and Durant. That's a lot of 3 point shooting. Plus Ben Simmons will help their defense to some meaningless extent.

It's ironic how the initial conversation was Kyrie Irving for Ben Simmons. Fast forward a couple months and we're on the brink of another James Harden trade. I don't think that looks good on Harden, but perhaps he doesn't care.
Brooklyn can (and should) make this trade, but they're dead in the water without Kevin Durant. They need him healthy for any of this to be truly relevant.

Chris Mannix:
"Sacramento is expected to aggressively pursue a deal to offload Harrison Barnes, per sources. Barnes is owed $18 million next season, the final year of his deal. The Kings held on to Barnes at last year's deadline in part because they believed Barnes could help get them to the playoffs in this one. With Sacramento struggling, the Kings appear to be more open than ever to trade Barnes, who is averaging 17 points and shooting 40% from three this season."

Minnesota: Harrison Barnes
Sacramento: Malik Beasley, Jake Layman, Leandro Bolmaro, 2022 first-round pick
Outgoing: $20.6M
Incoming: $20.2M
Let's not only secure a top-six seed and a playoff berth, but let's also make some noise when we get there. Make it even more difficult for opposing teams to matchup with the Wolves' length and athleticism. The lineup combinations are endless. Barnes is signed through next season and his next contract is likely to be more team-friendly due to his age. This is a trade you make with the present and future in mind.
