Dunn just went off against Georgetown not too long ago, but he's cooling off? And I'm not worried about his freak injury. Dude is still insanely explosive with much skill to match. You won't find a GM in the league that would take Valentine over him.
And that win against GT was their only win in the last 5. He has had a few clunkers in there. I think he is overrated at this point in the process. He is not in the same class as Wall. We have to remember this guy is 22 and a senior. He was considered on the same tier as Cameron Payne and Jerian Grant last summer. I am guessing we will end up picking between 6-8th. I think a team will be doing us a favor drafting him ahead of us.

He's a junior who missed some of his sophomore season due to shoulder surgery. Damian Lillard, another small school high draftee, was about the same age when he entered the league.
Also, not sure we should do the "he was projected to go here last year" thing. It doesn't really matter. I remember Porzingis was projected to go No. 12 or something to OKC two years ago. Sullinger was projected to go top-three after his freshmen year at OSU. A year can change a lot.

Dunn is a poor man's Wall who won't be able to finish as well as Wall and is a much worse distributor. All this so called dominance is due to him being older than competition and being a superior athlete. The guy can't even get 50% on his 2pt attempts, is a poor shooter evidenced by his sub 70% FT shooting, high TO rate.

Over the last decade only 2 upperclassmen lead guard became all stars : Roy and Liilard, plus McCollum looks good.
All those players had TS% of over 60, better 3pt & FT%, lower turnover rate

http://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/brandon-roy-1.html

All 3 are vastly superior to Dunn
And here's an upperclassman with scoring efficiency numbers more in line with Dunn

Upperclassmen becoming NBA stars are very rare. Outside of Roy and Lillard only Klay Thompson and J Butler were drafted in last 10 years. and those 2 shooting guards also had much better TS, 2pt, 3pt & FT percentages than Dunn.

Good stuff Brooklyn. Man, you give me pause over Dunn with that research. The 3-pt shooting is especially suspicious given his FT% and 2-pt %.
That being said, while there aren't many all-star guards that were drafted as upperclassmen, there are still some pretty damn good ones like Mathews, Redick, and Middleton that did have three or four years of college experience. Oh, and probably the greatest guard of them all right now - Steph Curry - was drafted as an upperclassmen.

Oops, how could I forget about Curry :dizzy:
But the points stand. All those guys were super efficient scorers. Dunn is none of that.

The only thing holding Dunn's advanced efficiency numbers down is his FT shooting percentage. He's solid from the field and from three (improved his % and volume this year). Sub-70% from the line as a guard is unacceptable, but that might be the guy's only glaring flaw as of right now. Luckily, free throw shooting is improvable.

Sub 50% on 2pts attempts is not good for physically dominant guard in college.

In 2014, he was > 50% from 2P. For whatever reason, he's regressed to 46.9%. Could be defenses focusing in on him more or him forcing the issue. Not sure, but you can't cherry pick that statistic and use it to completely dismiss a player.
For comparisons sake, Lillard shot 51.7% from 2P his senior year.
