You guys can't be serious about Simmons. I would lay him out if I ever had a chance to meet him. Just a horrible human being.

Just a question Cool do you listen to his podcasts at all. Or just his TV stuff, because IMO he comes off as a big douche on TV but I love his podcast, every Monday for the last two years I would sit down and listen to his 1 hour podcast.

Can't say I've listened to the podcasts. My dislike of him goes back to his treatment of David Kahn, believe it or not. That and his big market slant on everything. I just see him as a typical Boston reporter who has never known anything but privileged East Coast bias.

Fair enough, He does talk about the Celtics a decent amount, but I think he has a lot different personality when it comes to his podcasts and but it dosen't matter anymore. This thread can go back to the playoffs now, haha

Simmons is both super annoying and very good it honestly depends on what type of setting he is in. His columns used to be really good What i read anyway. To me Simmons gives you a well informed fan take and I think he sorta lets people know that upfront. It was nice to have him give Flip some credit last draft too bad he won't be there to offer up more praise for Flip this year. Lol

Like Volans, my thoughts are all on #1, but I'm still enjoying playoff games like last night's nail biter. I'm also a big LeBron fan, and the Love injury has me cheering for the Cavs to win it all. I Loved how easily they handled the Hawks with theoretically one of their Big 3 out...they haven't missed a beat since Kevin went down, and seem to be playing their best basketball of the season.

The Eastern Conference final is turning out to be a dud for those that were hoping for a close series. I recognize that I am a lone Wolf in this opinion, but I continue to think that the Cavs are a better team with Kevin Love out and TT getting his minutes. With Love (and in game 2, Irving) out, the Cavs as a defensive team look nothing like the team that we watched during the regular season. Milsap and Teague were two Atlanta's best producers this year, but facing Thompson and Dellavadova (instead of Love and Irving) they scored 16 points on 7 for 24 shooting. Although the Cavs had flashes of offensive brilliance during the regular season when all of the Big Three were on the court, I didn't see a team that was effective enough defensively to beat the Bulls or the Hawks...much less challenge for the championship. But the team I watched last night looks like a legitimate title contender, playing defense at a level we haven't seen all year and destroying the Hawks on the boards. I still don't know if they have enough to beat the Warriors, but I'm not counting them out.

Last night they beat a team that went 35-6 at home this season basically playing seven guys...and with a starting lineup of TT, Mosgov, Dellavedova, Shumpert and the best player in the world. Think about the four players that started the game with James, and try to make an argument that he isn't the best player in the world...by far.

David Blatt has been a whipping boy for many the entire season, and he made a couple bonehead moves at the end of a Bulls game that the Cavs were lucky to overcome and win. But I think he deserves credit for the way he has managed this team this year. Coaching a team with mercurial players like Love, Smith and Waiters can be challenging, and the media had a lot to write about this year. But I think he did a great job handling these characters. He has won everywhere he has coached, and now has a chance to win an NBA championship in his first year. The media has ripped him for how he used Kevin Love this year, but I maintain that he saw the same guy that I saw the past seven years and realized early that Love was not the guy he was going to rely on to win. I believe that limiting Love's role on offense and benching him at the end of close games had a lot to do with the Cavs' success, and Love's injury actually made his decisions easier. He can do what I believe he really wants to do...give Tristan Thompson 41 minutes...without having to face the ire of the media and Cavs' fans saying he is not utilizing Kevin Love properly.

Jumping up 2-0 on the road allows Blatt to rest Irving in hopes of having him healthy for the Warriors. But I also think Blatt likes the team he has with Dellavadova on the court. His consistently pesky defense is such an upgrade over Irving, and he is willing to let James play PG on offense and have the ball in his hands most of the time...not to mention his 41% on threes makes him another target outside the arc for LeBron. It's a joy to watch James break down the defense and either score or regularly find someone like James Jones, Iman Shumpert, Dellavadova or JR Smith wide open for a three. And even average (to below average) offensive players like these four make a high percentage of shots when the entire defense has to collapse on James. Some might argue that the Cavs would be even better if they had another shooter like Love out there for James to find, but somehow the chemistry just hasn't been there for them this season. I'm convinced Blatt thinks he has enough shooters on the floor without Love, and prefers to have TT's defense and offensive rebounding on the court.

The Western Conference series is going to be closer, but the East might be more interesting watching what LeBron can do with a bunch of teammates who will never be confused with all stars.

I think Golden State is going to cruise to a title. They have too much talent and depth.

They'll probably win, but I don't think they will cruise.. Houston played them tough in Oakland, and I think we will see some really good games in Houston. And then they still have to beat LeBron. I think the Warriors/Cavs series will be much closer than the Cavs/Hawks series.

Outside of the Refs always giving LeBron's team the calls I don't see why the Warriors couldn't beat them pretty easily.
