Good post, Volans. I could be wrong. But either the Cavs want Love or they don't. And the Cavs owner and front office can't possibly be dumb enough to believe they have any chance of getting Love for any package that doesn't include Wiggins. Therefore, there isn't any point to making emphatic statements to the press that they won't trade Wiggins unless they really mean what they're saying. They're not fooling anyone. Keep in mind that Flip is well known and respected around the League. He's not David Kahn. So I don't see teams trying to play Flip through a combination of low ball offers and dishonest statements. So I just don't see Wiggins as a possibility.

There has been an internal dispute in the Warriors front office. The owner wanted Love and was willing to give up Thompson. But Jerry West and Steve Kerr would rather keep Thompson. The owner ultimate deferred to his two basketball experts. The deal also fell through because Flip insisted that the Warriors take Martin and the Warriors refused. Flip was also holding out for a draft pick. So it's not like the Warriors were just tossing out totally one-sided deals. Flip was doing some prettying hard negotiating himself. I still think a deal with the Warriors is possible, but it will have to include Thompson.
As a Wolves fan, I would want Wiggins and Waiters for Love. As an NBA fan, I'd be curious to see how well Lebron and new coach do with these high draft picks. Perhaps CLE feels LeBron can foster and mentor these young players into a championship team without a "#2"? Maybe they believe Irving can be that guy?
Yes, Love-Irving-James make them likely title contenders for the next 5 years. But maybe they think they can do it without trading for anybody else.

Welp.. Then they're delusional. And that's just the way it is.

Quite possibly. Looking back on the 2009 WCF roster, I would argue neither of these other guys were "in their prime" stars.
Mo Williams
Antwan Jamison
Shaq
Varejao
Delonte West

And looking back on that team, they sucked, but they had LeBron. Do they really want to go through that again?
Well I don't know if they sucked being in the conf. finals. But I'm suggesting with Irving, Wiggins, Waiters, and Bennett, that could potentially be a strong Big 3,4, or 5. Much better than that 2009 team.

I'm fairly certain that Doug McDermott hasn't signed yet, and of course our own Robinson hasn't either. I'm sure there are other unsigned picks, but those are two I can think of off the top of my head.
