I'd jump on that, but I don't see Phoenix even considering it.

I wouldn't. Josh Jackson has issues above the neck. There were concerns about him coming out of college. I see him as a perennial journeyman going from team to team, underperformaing and wearing out his welcome. Tyus is a winner and with consistent playing time he's going to be a very solid NBA player.

The PG we should be shopping isn't Tyus Jones; it's Jeff Teague.

I still can't believe a team was willing to overlook the issues with that guy to take him 4th in what looked like a good draft. Plus I didn't really believe in the upside of him either but he really did seem like a knucklehead but the Suns drafted him anyway. I'm not saying the guys a lost cause and cant or won't be a useful player but...maybe he will have a better finish to the season like he did down the stretch last year. "Do shit" player what kind of shit do you expect him to do? :) and yes I am joking around he does have some worthwhile steak block etc stats.

Apparently Ariza was holding the Suns back. No reason to add Austin Rivers to screw up their flow. I have to say the reports ofnthe asuns wanting another ball handler must not have been all that accurate. I mean Rivers isn't a PG but it also doesn't make sense for them to cut him loose if that was actually what they were looking for. Between Darrell Arthur Chandler and Rivers the Suns are paying around 30 million to guys that aren't gonna be on their roster.

I still don't understand why they didn't get something/anything for those players.

2nd round draft picks... something. ANYTHING!

Yep they were talking about this on the ringer NBA show. The Suns didn't want Obure, proven that in the original trade Obrue was going to the Grizz. Then they just cut Rivers. So the trade did them nothing. Got a player they didn't want, didn't save money and got no picks.

I think saying they didn't want Oubre at all and got nothing in this deal is going a little too far. They wanted Dillon Brooks (and Maybe they valued Seldon also) from the Grizzlies more. It makes sense. Dillon Brooks is young and cheap for another year but Oubre they will have to pay this offseason if they want to keep him. Supposedly a number of teams have already called asking for Oubre which makes sense. Honestly I'll be a little surprised if he is on the Suns after the trade deadline. At worst they got a nice asset in that deal because some team is gonna give up something to get Oubre. He can help a team for the rest of the season and having his restricted rights are likely valuable also. They got something out of the deal. Dumping Rivers is still bit of a head scratcher. It sorta feels like when Milt Newton was running the Wolves...and I kinda liked him.

I'm really impressed by Indiana. 3rd in the East and playing well without their best player. Can you imagine us last year playing without Butler (for example)? What has changed with Nate McMillan on board? Defense for one thing. Man, it helps when you can get stops. They are top 10 in all four of the defensive four-factors.

And Sabonis should be a legit 6th man of the year contender. He is ridiculously efficient in the 25 MPG he plays. A lot of us liked him as a draft prospect a few years ago and he is starting to mature into a really good big man.

Seconded. Good teams know how to do this. Sadly we do not.
