Sucked in terms of talent, not result. LeBron carried that team to the fullest.
Cleveland fans on general boards keep raving about keeping flexibility going forward which I just don't see. They're going to be over the cap regardless with whomever they sign this offseason, Wiggins, and Thompsons' qualifying offer/extension. Whether they pull the trigger on Love or not aren't they filling out their roster with exceptions?
Sure they could become tax payers and lose the mid-level, but are exception level players more likely to take a pay-cut to play with LeBron, Love, and Kyrie or LeBron, Kyrie and the gang of "so-so players and maybes"?

I get keeping the "flexibility" for Cleveland, but Lebron has put a lot of mileage on his body wouldn't you want to try and put the best team on the court now? I just don't know how dominant he will be in 3-4 years.

Perhaps CLE feels LeBron can foster and mentor these young players into a championship team without a "#2"? Maybe they believe Irving can be that guy?
Yes, Love-Irving-James make them likely title contenders for the next 5 years. But maybe they think they can do it without trading for anybody else.
Welp.. Then they're delusional. And that's just the way it is.
LOL, no doubt, how did that work out during LeBron's first stint with the Cavs.

Well, to be fair I think this Cavs team is more talented and Lebron is a better player too. If Wiggins turns into a 17 pts , 5rbs and 2 stls a game and plays the kind of defense many expect him too I think they're right there. Any team with Lebron has a fighters chance cuz itll make the playoffs.
Watching Wiggins so far in Summer League, looking at his college stats and recognizing he's a young rookie, I don't see Him contributing much to help LeBron next season. In contrast, adding Love in place of Wiggins, Bennett and Thomson would catapult the Cavs into Eastern Conference championship contention and maybe even title contention. Imagine a front line of LeBron, Love and Varejao with Irving and Waiters in the back court. Add in some solid vet free agents who would likely sign with Cleveland and you have a pretty impressive team.

No question. The Cavs are insane to not take advantage of our misfortune.
I would estimate that about 90% of this board thinks Cleveland is crazy to not give us what we want for Love (Wiggins and pieces)...I'm in the 10% and would be sitting with all that young talent rather than trading for a guy who hasn't made the playoffs yet.
Now a question for the 90%. I know we are all confident in our own personal basketball acumen, but the passion with which you guys are certain that the Cavs are idiots seems overstated to me.
Are some of you willing to admit that the Cleveland brain trust might actually be smarter than you think, and that they may be right?

Considering the Cavs will probably make the playoffs regardless of Love, why is the fact he's never made the playoffs before have any impact on what they would think of Love? All that matters is he is a top 10 player and they aren't willing to trade a guy who has a better chance of not being a top 10 player than being 1. In what world is it smart to waste years of Lebron's prime waiting for talent to develop? They aren't a top 2 team in the East right now and if you think they are, then you are grossly overrating that team in its current construction. They are 2 years minimum away from contention and that's if Wiggins becomes the player everyone thinks he will in an accelerated time frame. Lebron will already be 32-33 at that point with his effectiveness going down because of the exhaustion of carrying the Cavs and Heat for several years running.
