Vikings seem to be including plenty of guanteed money to get guys. That's a big deal Theilen's agent said some of these guys get nothing but a hotel room and some meals. Kinda sad really.

Interesting perspective on a missing piece of how people are viewing this draft by the Vikings.

That is pretty roamsey review of the draft for us. I do think we are lookong at up yo 3 starters out of thr draft on openning day which is crazy considering we didnt have a first.

Yeah it's rosey but I thought He made a good point about getting Bradford for the cost we paid which seemed so much a few months ago. The Jury is still out on that move but those young guys aren't sure things...far from it. It will be interesting/hard to decide what we got out of last year's draft with the future pics Rick got for this year. What if a guy they got with one of those picks turns out to be pretty good? It looks like the Dolphins 4th was used to go up and Cook and then the 3rd round pick they traded down to the 4th to get jaleel johnson and the 7th rounder that netted the DL from Northwestern. I'd give him credit if one of those DL end up being useful.
Back to guys that could end up being starters out of this draft.
Bradford (some people wont want to include him that's fine)
Cook
Elf
A LB
Jaleel Johnson
So...it's possible you could get 4-5 starters this year out of this draft class. I doubt that happens this year except for maybe a spot start but it's not completely crazy either.
Did you see they are planning on putting Tocho at Safety? That makes sense I kinda liked him at CB from what's i read but depending on what you want you Safety to do it could make a lot of sense. Someone on a podcast made the point if the Vikings could ever find a cover Safety imagine what kind of stuff they could do unleashing Smoth around the LOS. It's a good point I hadnt considered it before quite the way they put it which i am probably not putting justice to.

I was thinking that with Tocho since he has the size. I was thinking Desmond King could play safety for us, but Tocho might be a find.

It seemed like other teams didn't value King or valued other guys higher. Based on what I read isn't it kinda surprising he went in the same round as Gerry?

Sounds like King health was not the best during Senior Bowl, Combine, and draft prep. Didn't run 40 at combine and had a strained abdomen. Physically he is basically the same as Mackensie Alexander. He should have come out last year and likely would have been a late 1st or second rounder. He went to the Chargers. It will be interesting to see how he does.
Nate Gerry has the size you want in a SS. He seems to have a little Harrison Smith to him.

PFF stats on our draft class.

My low light is. Ben Gedeon.
Ben Gedeon allowed receptions on 30 of 37 targets between 2014-2016; he did not break up a single pass in that time span, and gave up a QB rating against of 123.2.
