I have no problem with us standing pat now. If something interesting happens, great. But I am pretty happy with what we have right now.

Time to fess up. I really believed Rosas was the head idiot. But lo and behold, I was totally wrong. The current holder of the title is Rob Pelinka. Will he relinquish it this summer? Perhaps, but Rosas is off the hook. Rosas handed the Warriors a championship, no small feat. But Pelinka brought in 3 players and still managed to get worse. He shipped out a top 75 player of all time and other prime assets for one soon to be 6th man and two guys who should never be starters.
Seriously, there is some validity to the question: "What is it about DLO that has had so many teams jump off the boat?" He certainly seems to wear out his welcome very quickly. I don't want to say I told you so, but I saw this day coming since the trade to bring him here. It's too bad he was part of a trade with many other components, thus denying us a true gauge of his current value. We will have to wait until the summer to see what kind of attention he gets.

close to what he is now... 108 games of Conley vs. 26 games of Russell makes it a much better deal.
36-year old Mike Conley Jr. is the savior. Sounds good to me. What could go wrong?

I think Westbrook was put in a terrible situation and gets a bad rap. BUT, he's simply not a great player in LA and not a good fit.
James has thrived with shooters around him. And Beasley is one of the league's better volume three point guys and Russell has been one of the league's BEST three point shooters for more than two months. Russell playing for his next contract can't hurt either.
[Note: Westbrook's HOF career doesn't have much to do with winning games for the Lakers in 2023. His value is the player he is today... with the contract he earned back when he was a Top 75 player.]

Now that Vando and Beasley have been traded for first round pick we can finally say that Rudy Gobert trade was for the equivalent of 6 first round picks that doesn't sit well with me even though I'm a Rudy defender.

The Kevin Love trade tree lives on I'll do a simple version of it
Love traded for Wiggins
Wiggins and first rounder (Kuminga) for DLO
DLO traded for Conely and 3 seconds
A trade we mead 9 years ago is still effecting the team today.

Which is why I started the post with the "long-term ramifications" part. And why I was very clear in bolding the part of your post I disagree with.
Unless you think Juan Toscano-Anderson and Damian Jones are great losses or something.

You didn't write that, but that does seem to be the popular sentiment. We're also doubling down on a bad Rudy Gobert trade, which is... well, it's something.
Let's collectively hope Mike Conley Jr. gets on the TB12 fitness program and essentially turns back the clock instead of further declining and potentially breaking down. Again, I don't think many people here have actually watched much of the elder statesman this season and are instead falling back on knowledge of who said player once was. This isn't five years ago.
