And with all that thibs in one offseason signed arguably the best 2 wolves free agents in history in

Former Bulls don't count.....
Haha. Come on it counts just a little, haha. But also signed Crawford over the Cavs. Signed MGH over I believe magic and lakers.
I'm not saying thibs is this great recruiter but talent wise added 2 of the great free agent signings in wolves history (says more about our history). Had a guy pick us over a team lead by LBJ and found a productive player last year in buyout season in rose.
But hey let the thibs bashing begin.

I think Thibs is probably one of the hardest-working coaches/GMs in the business and he knows what a team needs to do to win games consistently.
What he seems to lack is relationship and interpersonal skills - basically the ability to relate to people (especially his players) on a deeper level, including about things other than basketball. This is the problem when one becomes so focused on one's profession to the exclusion of all other activities.
What Thibs needs is a good woman!

I honestly don't know if he's a bad recruiter or not and you give some good examples (although MGH...c'mon man). My bigger issue with him as a GM is roster construction. He gave his coach mis-matched pieces to work with....

Money talks and players are not taking discounts to play for Thibs. Amazingly Taj played up to his contract with arguably his best season ever but Teague didn't in my opinion. Teague is a bit overpaid.
I think Teague is a solid PG, but he is a poor fit for the roster we have. None of our three perimeter guys are pure shooters, so they all tend to want to occupy the same space from about 20-feet in. Hell, if Wiggins were a deadeye 3-point shooter, I could care less if he ever dove for a loose ball again.
I agree. I'm not at all saying Teague is a bad player, I do think he is a slight upgrade over Rubio but he came here because of more money. I could say the same for Crawford. In the end, if you offer more money guys will come.
Thibs is probably better suited as an assistant coach. He knows the game but you're right. He just isn't a good leader. His negative vibe and yelling has to get old. I said it before, I imagine guys just tuning him out eventually. You can only take so much verbal abuse when you are not doing things right. Which is why I think we haven't seen much if any uptick in defensive growth from the young guys (KAT & Wigs).
I think some guys are wired to take it better then others. Some guys it effects more like Nate Robinson.

Agreed, guys like Butler and Gibson are tough motherf*ckers, so they seem better equipped to deal with Thibs.
I don't think the yelling and barking would get so old if he actually took the time to have more of a relationship with the players on a deeper level. I think that's what Pop does and why he is able to be a real hard-ass with guys like benching his whole starting unit 5 minutes into a game and lacing into them on the bench. But then he's buying them dinner and knows what wine they like to drink later that night.....

Kawhi appears to be the exception. Robinson, Elliott, Duncan, Parker, Manu....

Wel Q it's been reported Thibs and Derrick Rose used to go out for dinner pretty much every night. No mention about what wine they drink though. Lol
Unti the last couple years Pop was not really known as a relationship guy and keep in mind Aldridge was wanting to get traded a few months ago. It's like Thibs is who he is and there is zero chance for him to grow. Meanwhile we have an owner that his positives and negatives tend to be his abilities with relationships...although some have gone sour. Someone mentioned Thibs isn't or might not be a good leader. I've personally wondered about that the last couple months. Still I think the jury is out on him in a few different areas. There are certainly some negative signs though but perception can change pretty quickly if things go well for any organization. We have also heard from some vets like Butler that Thibs is different and he actually cares much more about players other than basketball. Only time will tell.
