What do you think is more likely that he took this on purpose or that he was just dumb and took something on a whim(ok that's being too dramatic but..)? Both are dumb and I'm not sure which one makes me more upset. Dude was freaking dealing and if he kept up what he had been doing the past couonemo that he was heading toward a nice payday. This is going to cost him a nice chunk of money both in salary from the suspension and probably his earning power...unless he sucked the rest of the season then this might not hurt him.
This is no small blow to this season especially when it comes to the playoffs. Yeesh

Took it on purpose to mask something else. 90% sure. Only 10% if he's that much of an idiot. From my time in scouting role I was always told by guys who had way more experience than me that players know 95% time what there doing. All they have to do is make a phone call to the team doctor and they can tell them if they can take it.

Thanks for the info. I do try and give guys the benefit of the doubt. I just know some people aren't conscientious about what they do in general and that includes this type of thing. I've just worked with to many people of all groups that have the resources they need but don't make that call or whatever. Like I said regardless is pretty frustrating. Hopefully this is a chance for another player to step up getting a win last night was pretty big. That Garver guy is kinda good.

Graver needs to start every game in the playoffs. I wonder if they would consider leaving Castro off the offseason roster and rolling with Willians Astudillo as a backup so they could go with an extra pitcher.

0% chance of Castro being left off the postseason roster if he is healthy. They didn't play out most of the season with him nearly splitting with Garver to not have him on the roster in the postseason.
Edit: Now I think your point brings up that the Twins May have some difficult decisions ahead both in terms of position players and pitchers. Who is actually healthy? Can Buxton do something on the field besides pinch run and be a defensive replacement? Is there another worthy healthy option? Do they try and go with an opener strategy for a postseason start in the rotation? What Astudillo has going for him is he can play everywhere and he is going to swing the bat and likely make contact. If he plays and hits the rest of the way it may be hard to keep him off the roster.

Monster - I agree, but what would analytics say?
Jose Berrios is struggling even on 6 days rest. Not having Michael Pineda we might have to carry more arms to have a shot and deploy opener type scenario in playoffs. Would we consider going with 12 or 13 arms in a playoff series? If so Astudillo makes a lot of sense. Castro is batting ..156 over last 28 days with 1 RBI and .198 with 5 RBIs in the second half. He is really the only automatic out in the Twins lineup at this time.

Buxton will be on the team for at least the Dyson role of pinch running and defense. Got to remember Marwin is going to be out most likely it sounds like he have an oblique strain that the twins aren't announcing according to Gleeman. You don't carry Stashak and you don't have Pineda on the roster so that's two more spots. My guess would be Graterol and the turtle get those two spots.
As for pitching rotation hopefully Berrios can
find his command again. His velocity was finally up in that Boston game but he was not sharp with his command. Odo looks like he's figured things out and I wonder if it's because his finger is finally healthy. He was spotting up real nice
Yesterday.
With Pineda gone now needs to figure out if Perez has figured it out again or Kyle Gibson can be effective again. My bet is on Perez and the adjustment on his cutter to make it sharper.

I have more faith in Perez at this point. I don't have faith in any of our starters pitching more than 5 innings at this point. Why can't Graterol get swing and misses? Is it a location thing or does he not have enough movement?

Well it could be the fact he's 21 years old lol. I think a lot of it has to do with him not throwing his breaking ball over so far.

I was just curious. He has faced 12 batters.
1 - K
2 - BB
4 - Hits
I have not looked at what he has thrown in detail. Do you think it was the right thing to make him a reliever this year?
