Pat Bev, annoying, pestering, weird....winner. I miss him.

I mean...who would not be moved by his eloquent halftime exhortation to "stay swaggy".

Coincidentally, those were the exact same words employed by George Patton to his troops before the Battle of the Bulge.

With the money committed to KAT and Gobert, we simply can't afford another big contract for a big. I expect Naz to be moved by the deadline. Hopefully we can get some picks for him.

The problem now is, because there's a good chance KAT's not coming back this season, the Wolves need Naz to make it to the playoffs. Without him and with Rudy banged up, the team is reduced to Nate Knight. Trading Naz is conceding the playoffs in a way unfortunately.

I know you like his +27 that game FNG. Don't do me like that.

My take on needing Reid on the roster for the remainder of this season vs. next season would yield very different answers.

The Wolves aren't recouping a 1st rd. pick for him in a draft, so I assume he'll remain on the team and find a new home next season... or maybe he can be involved in a sign-and-trade, but I don't know the feasibility of that and won't bother to do the research because I'm lazy sometimes.

LOL, I noticed that. And 4 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists in 29 minutes! But to his credit, he was out there for most of the second half when the Lakers outscored Portland by 34 points...my god what a comeback. I've watched PatBev a couple times this season and he's looked lost out there...averaging less than 6 PPG and shooting less than 40%. But he was fun to watch at times last season, so it was nice to read about him last night.

Let's say money doesn't matter why exactly is Naz Reid coming back here to be the 3rd center? I didn't think he was coming back before the Gobert trade but it seems even less likely now especially since he is proven to be an even better player maybe even a legit starter.

A sign and trade is always a possibility although somewhat remote but this offseason a number of teams will have money to spend. It doesn't seem too like that a team will give up something to the Wolves to sign him to a deal. Plus that means the Wolves would have to take back salary too.

I think the Wolves would have to get something pretty good back to move Naz. I agree it seems unlikely to get a 1st round pick back but MAYBE a team trades that for him because they see him as a guy they bring back because they are over the cap. The Clippers would be that type of team. In the past teams have given up a 1st round pick for a rental guy that ended up leaving in FA. I don't know if there are teams that will do that now. I assume not. That doesn't mean the Wolves couldn't get value for Naz in a deal but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Zion Williamson is out for at least the next two weeks. Brandon Ingram is out tonight, but the Pelicans are "hopeful" that he'll play tomorrow (against the Timberwolves).

And of course the Thunder and Warriors win against Eastern Conference opponents last night, which does nothing to alleviate the tight playoff positioning in the West.

Could things be going any better for the Thunder in terms of their rebuilding process? It always makes me jealous given the Wolves history when I see teams blow up to rebuild with young talent and then two or three years later - voila! - back in the playoff hunt! No problem!

No Chet Holmgren this season either. They're set up to be a force in the Western Conference sooner AND later.
