I thought the Murray foul was pretty weak with about a minute left, but Lebron also got a weak and 1 with a few minutes left as well.

The nuggets offensive really went stagnant in the 4th (kinda looked like how the wives get in when of game scenarios), but just insane shot making by Murray to sneak the win out. If the lakers had some depth, they could have buried Denver in that game.
I don't really agree, I think you are certainly entitled to that opinion. I agree to an extent, I don't think Ant, Kat, etc should be complaining to the refs for 30 seconds while the other team goes down court and scores. Refs aren't gong to be perfect, but it's pretty obvious when the refs are reffing in a way to keep the games somewhat close. The NBA doesn't want a bunch of blowout wins, they want the excitement of last second shots. Of course, there are bad calls, and some refs go on a bit of an ego trip sometimes and forget who the fans are there to see, but honestly, some of these calls are really tough to make, and in the long run, what goes around comes around. You get some bad calls, you lose some bad calls. It's human nature to be biased towards yourself, so I understand why somebody might feel upset about a call that, if the jerseys were reversed, they'd be totally fine with. The fact that everybody has that double standard though, should be reason and logic enough for people to temper their frustration after the moment has passed and not complain after the game. And even in the moment itself, people need to be more stoic.
Sorry if this sounds a bit rant-y, but even beyond complaining about calls, whatever happened to the ability to just get on with it? It seems like so many people these days are so quick to think that THEY are getting screwed and even quicker to complain and whine about it. Everybody feels so entitled these days. Who asks themselves what they owe others anymore? I think it's time to emulate the strong silent type a bit more, and not whining about calls, especially after the game, would be a decent place to start!
I agree 100% with your take, Drew...I find the whining, complaining and posturing exhausting, and agree that it is a reflection of the entitlement and victimization so widespread today. I much prefer the baseball model. What happens when you complain about a call in baseball? You get thrown out of the game! That seems to control the whining just fine. I would do the same thing in basketball. Currently referees will assess a technical foul, but only if the player is too demonstrative or uses one of the words you can't say on TV. I would give basketball referees similar power that baseball umpires have...assess a technical foul for complaining about a call, and throw the player out if it happens more than once. I guarantee it would almost eliminate whining like it has done in baseball, and make the product much more watchable.
