This is one trade deadline that I actually won't be disappointed if we don't make any moves.

It's certainly not the worst outcome, but it'll be a little disappointing to me if they don't get this team some help down the stretch. It appears they're going to stand pat, though.

Tonight's box score will determine if I agree or not. Kidding....kind of.

Remember... If the Wolves win, it's because of luck! And if they lose, it's because they suck!

That's the rule and it happens to rhyme so it should stick.

I've been following the debate over Montrezl Harrell. I say no on whether the Wolves should trade a Naz Reid package for Harrell. It's an easy one for me. I think everyone on both sides of the debate have provided good arguments based on what Harrell would bring to the team relative to Naz Reid. But I also think that all those on both sides would concede that it's a close question. And that's why I say no. I might think differently if the Wolves were struggling. But this team is gelling and playing at a consistently high level. It's a rising team, not a falling team. We're in the 7th position and within striking distance of the 5th seed. The Wizards are a completely different story. Beal is out and they're looking ahead to next season and beyond. In a close call like this one,

So I can see why the Wizards would probably like to make the deal. But I think the team that's doing well -- in this case the Wolves -- should say no to any deal that's clearly a close call. That's the end of the analysis for me. But the deal looks even less sensible for the Wolves when you consider that Naz Reid is 21 years old with untapped upside and one year left on an extremely team-friendly deal while Harrell is 28 on an expiring $9 million deal.

Right not, Harrison Barnes is the only starting-caliber player I'm interested obtaining by 2 p.m. tomorrow. I'd be willing to part with Beasley or Prince and a future protected 1st to get him. But I don't see that happening. That leaves me uninterested in anything other than dealing Layman for salary space to sign Monroe or for a big like Bitadze, Robin Lopez, Alex Len or Moses Brown. After watching Naz Reid dunk on Alex Len last night, I'm not sure I'm that interested in Len. But I do think we need to add another rotation-capable big. The four I mentioned aren't getting many minutes with their current teams and would seem to be gettable without giving up too much more than Layman. I'm thinking Layman and two of our 2022 2nd round picks.

I honestly don't want us to deal anyone on this roster other than Layman unless it's for Harrison Barnes.

Jesters overreaction to Kings game tonight idea.

Blow it up these guys are bumbs. Might as well trade Towns for Jaylen Brown and Marcus
Smart and some first round picks

All seriousness looking forward to tomorrow and seeing what this team does.

Tomorrow should be a boring day for our Timberwolves. They don't need to make any trades. This team is a family. They just need a trip to the Bahamas and Glen Taylor's wife's lasagna. Live, laugh, love.

I'm firmly against doing the layman and 2nd rounder to sign a guy to a vet min deal if for no other reason that if we were gonna do that we should have done it months ago and gotten someone more intriguing/good. Giving up a reasonably valuable 2nd for what will be a few weeks of a vet min guy seems silly. TWO 2nds for that? Absolutely not. I feel the same about trading for someone someone like Alex Len. There are 28 games left plus the playoffs. At some point the wolves might be able to sign someone to a vet min deal and stay under the lux tax anyway. Yeah I know the Wolves have three 2nd rounders so why not move one but those can have value around the draft in being able to move up or as a sweetener in another trade or maybe be able to swap for a future pick. It could also be used on a draft and stash player.

My friend that is a Kings fan said last night he didn't want to trade Barnes. I was honestly a little surprised. I told him I had heard they could get 2 assets for him like 2 first round picks. He said ok then yeah maybe I would do that. I did say that Barnes might have value next offseason too but if I could get good assets for him now I would do that. I think the Kings should look towards the future even if it's tempting espcially with the latest deal to hope for this season.

Would I like to be able to sign say a Greg Monroe when he becomes available again? Yes. Could it end up helping the Wolves in a meaningful way? Yeah it's possible we have seen things like that happen before. It's also possible he rarely plays and when he does the results are meaningless. It's also possible that playing Nathan Knight would give the Wolves some sort of boast too. Would I bet on that? No. I know it seems a little much to be drawing a line in the sand over a 2nd rounder (I think it might take multiple to get off Layman) but that's where I am. If there was a guy that I thought was good or maybe a young up and coming player we could sign cheap to a multi year deal then that would be something I would be more interested in.

Robin Lopez is not a bad player.

I have no idea why he's still in Orlando. Must like collecting the paychecks in warmer weather?
