Minnesota Timberwolves center Jesse Edwards has signed his two-way qualifying offer and will return to the team, league sources told @hoopshype
. He averaged 11.9 points on 63.5% shooting from the field, 7.6 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks with the Iowa Wolves, Minnesota’s G League team.

OK I don't get the point of this. There's no reason to keep him here.

No downside in doing this. If a guy balls out in SL they will cut Edwards and give the contract to that player.

Here are the salary numbers I see on Hoopshype with the addition of Beringer at rookie scale:

1. Edwards 45,550,512
2. Gobert 35,000,00
3. Jaden 24,393,104
4. Randle 30,666,667
5. Naz 21,551,724
6. Donte 11,990,000
7. Conley 10,774,038
8. Dilly 6,576,120
9. Ingles 3,634,153 (cap hit only $2,162,606)
10. TSJ 2,674,080
11. Miller 2,221,677
12, Clark 2,191,897
13. Beringer 4,200,000

TOTAL with Randle at Hoopshype Amount= $199,952,425

TOTAL if Randle’s 1st year is at $33,333,333: $202,619,091

2nd Apron: $207,825,000

Room Under 2nd Apron: $7,872,575 - $5,205,908

If Randle’s contract is a typical one with an escalating salary, then his first year salary will be lower than $33,333,333. But even if his first year starts at that amount, it looks like the Wolves will be able pay up to $5.205 million using the TMLE on a free agent to fill out the 14th roster spot without hitting the second apron.

Bottom line is that the Wolves appear to have enough room under second apron to use most of the TMLE on a free agent, but might have to forgo filling the 15th roster spot. I suspect the Wolves will simply fill the 14th roster slot with a vet minimum player and leave the 15th slot open with more more room under the second apron to add a player later in the season.

Yep and there is a moderate chance Edwards could actually help the Wolves this season more than the two 18 year olds they just drafted.
