Huge game tonight with a Kings rematch. With a win, we will be tied with the Clips for FOURTH PLACE just one game behind 3rd.

Vegas looks at us differently that they did a couple days ago when they installed Sac-Town as a 3-point favorite. Tonight the game is a pick 'em. The move could have something to do with Taurean being upgraded from Out to Questionable. I think he'll play.

I don't know....tough to beat a good team twice in a row, so I'm not going to get too despondent if we lose tonight, even though it will suck.

Also, while the playoff seeding is fun to think about (we could be #4 after tonight in the West!!!), the reality is we know we could drop as far down as #11 with one bad week of play. I basically consider everyone between #4 and #11 as tied right now.

Small mini rant on the ringer (or the National media).

Last night Fox leads the kings to victory and KOC goes on twitter and mentioned that they need this dude in the all star game (he might deserve it he is a stud) but no comment on Ant who outplayed him on Saturday when it is probably Ant vs Fox for the last all star spot.

Bill Simmons and Russillo both destroy Dlo last night. Simmons brings up historically bad box scores to compare Dlo performance last night. Russillo shows an overtime sequence blaming Dlo where Lyles gets a that easy dunk (you see on the video Dlo and Slow Mo communicate that Slow Mo needs to drop to the rim and Slow Mo receives the message and Slow Mo does not rotate) and then Dlo missing the 3 the next possession.

I'm cool with getting on Dlo for last nights game his shot was not falling and the rest of his game didn't over take that but it annoys the shit out of me that there have been literally 0 comments from Simmons and Russillo all year when for the last month and a half Dlo has been putting up 50/40/90 splits. Just annoys the shit out of me that you only comment about Dlo legit the one game he was bad with his shot in the last 50ish days, to fit a narrative that he sucks.

Dlo is super polarizing and I'm cool if he is or is not on this team next year but you only mention when he has a bad game when he has been on fire these last 50ish games is media BS

That is really annoying Kek. And where would Fox and the Kings be without Sabonis by the way??? I can guarantee you worse off than the Wolves and Ant are without KAT. Not that I hate Sacramento, as it's good to see another woebegone franchise have some success with some cool players, but just reinforcing the point you make about ignoring Ant's play.

KOC and Chris Vernon discussed the Kings vs. Wolves quite a bit on their latest podcast. I think Vernon is especially enamored with Edwards.

As for Simmons and Russillo... they're big enough where they just capture chum for their established narratives. There's no way Simmons is seeing THAT many basketball games, THAT many movies, THAT many football games, THAT many HS soccer and football games, all while remaining a figurehead for his successful company.

It's not possible to have that much time in a day. So... they fudge things a bit. We saw the same thing from Simmons during football season. He went nuts over Danny Dimes for the Giants after the playoff victory... seemingly oblivious that the Vikings had a much larger problem on defense than Kirk Cousins at QB.

[Note: I'm ok with Fox over Edwards for the ASG. I'm not ok with Booker, George or Leonard over Edwards... Edwards has played more than 2x as many minutes as Leonard and George and has nearly doubled up Booker. That's important stuff that is often completely overlooked. What makes it worse is that it's overlooked while the same people parse through the most arcane statistics to prove one guy is better than the other... without ever acknowledging that picking-and-choosing when you play might actually help with those very stats.]

And the Wolves hit pieces continue by the ringer today. They updated their top 100 players list. Ant does stays at 33, Kat moves down (understandable) and Rudy plummets to the low 50s, no mcdaniels or Dlo in the top 100 but the all great Nic Batum makes it with lower stats across the board than Mcdaniels.

Then for the afternoon hit piece Ryen Russillo does a pod and talks about the wolves. Here are the highlights.
Dlo worst player in the NBA who gets minutes
Kat is the Tall Dlo who Jarrett Allen is significantly better than
Ant should not accept the rookie max extension.

What a load of shit from the ringer this week. Wolves are missing their All NBA player for most of the season, Dlo has a month and a half of 50/40/90 ball, wolves over 500 being led by a 21 year old and wolves are 11-5 in their last 16 with a ton of great wins. The Ringer watches one fucking game where it was a sloppy but competitive game against the current 3 seed and it's fucking hit piece after hit piece

I heard the Russillo piece. It was... ummmm... amusing?

Just a silly, silly take.

It's pretty obvious they haven't been watching the Timberwolves (or Russell) much outside of OT of the 2nd Kings game. Even Cool and D-loser know that's a terribly lazy take.

Yep, silly takes on Wolves players. The problem with sports media today is that there's too much of it. And because there is too much, there's room for sophomoric idiots like Russillo to jabber on like an 11 year old on the playground who knows absolutely nothing but loves to emphatically spout whatever comes into his little mind.

By the way, Kessler had 17 points on 8-10 shooting tonight along with 14 rebounds and 7 blocks. Love Connelly's eye for young talent. :)

He's a stud. Legit sucks he was part of the trade because without him in it I would be cool with what the wolves gave up for Gobert. I mean the wolves now are #1 in defense when Gobert is on the court and #28 when he is off. Gobert has been dominating on that end. But Kessler is a cheaper younger version. Props to Kessler because I legit thought he was at best a backup center at his ceiling what a stud
