I'd like to see the Wolves re-sign Okogie, but only at a salary that would allow the team to use the full MLE and the BAE without exceeding the luxury tax threshold. Whether that's possible will depend in part on whether the Wolves retail Prince and, if so, what they agree to pay Prince. I see Layman as the odd man out, but then again, he's not a bad end-of-bench guy on a minimum salary.
If we bring back Okogie and Prince but let Layman go, the Wolves will have two roster spots. One of those spots will presumably be filled with our #19 pick while the other will presumably be filled by a free-agent big. That would leave no room to sign any 2nd-round picks other than foreign stash guys - unless the Wolves acquire a big via trade rather than free agency.

I see no basketball reason for Josh Okogie to be re-signed at any cost, to include the minimum. The only reason he might be brought back is for some cultural, good vibes, he's-our-cheerleader type reason. I hope that isn't the case because roster spots are valuable, but that's how I see it. We know what Okogie is and isn't by now. There are better players more deserving of that spot.

I tend to feel that same way Cam although I think another team signing him for the vet min might be good. i do think Okogie has use just he doesn't fit here at the moment. If the Wolves had more need on the wing like they do in the frontcourt bringing back a flawed player like Okogie would make some sense. Even if Prince leaves I can't just slot in a poor shooter even for cheap like Okogie. I feel like we would need to sign someone who would help more than that or we take a step back from this year. Plus I won't be shocked if the Wolves draft another non-PF-C at some point in this draft. Like you said roster spots matter and as much as I like Okogie yeah I would rather hope for someone that eventually more useful than he is now.
Heck Nathan Knight might have more "potential" at this point than Okogie. He might actually not be an NBA player (Okogie might not be either) but Knight is interesting and has a couple paths to being a decent depth guy. Having said that Knight might not being on the Wolves roster this coming season either.

Yup, these are the best two teams in the NBA. Great Game 1.

Amazing how one game can change my opinion from "I hope both teams lose" to "this may be one of the best matchups in years"
This is a really exciting matchup!!!

Great game. Basically Golden State was controlling things throughout most of the game and then - bam! - the Celtics just lit it up in the 4th quarter from deep while putting the clamps down defensively. They are scary good. Hard to believe they were at one point sucking wind and barely a .500 team well into this past regular season.

Greg Monroe + Jaylen Nowell + Nathan Knight >>> Boston Celtics.

Wiggins still misses a ton of bunnies. Dont miss that. Always an enigma for someone with that athleticism can go up so soft.
Such a contrast to Ant.
