- Too into the 1st half (after a fun Wild clincher) to post anything. But the #1 thing was that the officials are letting the Wolves play the physical defense they prefer to play.

- 8:38 left in the 3rd. Just a simple possession we really only see at the NBA level. Everyone on the court knows Conley is really only a spot-up shooter. The Wolves move the ball around a bit, all while Conley calmly slides into the slot, for an open three. Nice professional set.

8:18 left in 3rd: Shannon flashes in the dunker spot!... ... ... and waits...
Whew. Randle saw him just in time.

- 4:00 left in 3rd: McDaniels wanted to go at Murray. He hesitated just enough so he kicked it out. Love that he went right back at Murray for the bucket. He's dialed in.

- Wolves on a run. Clark for a three out top... WOW... I cringed and turned away before the ball even hit the baseline. I assume it was an airball because I seriously turned away.

- 8:00 left in 4th. Conley to Rudy on the short roll to Naz in the corner... Is that hope I feel? (Doris was right to call Jones out after that play. He should have let Rudy try to take two dribbles and score over Jokic.)

- Whoa. McDaniels running the pick n roll with Gobert. And that leads to a wraparound pass (left hand) from Gobert to Shannon in the corner to beat the shot clock. That's hope. That's confidence. The Wolves are winning this game.

- Fair is fair. Coach Finch deserves his pretty bouquet.

- Fun night for Minnesota sports fans. The Wild overcome their 1st rd foibles and beats its greatest rival at home. There's a legit sense that it's a team that COULD win a championship. That's been a rare feeling around these parts for decades. Then, across town, the Wolves are playing their biggest rival without its starting backcourt and top reserve. They're playing vs the best player in the league and one of the best ever. Against the odds, they win through grit and effort and energy.

The Wild might fall short next round. The Timberwolves certainly will. But that's ok. Tonight is about enjoying a pretty damn good and even historic sports day for Minnesota fans.
Unbelievable night...and let's not forget the Twins bullpen actually protected a lead!

I also cringed when Clark put up that shot...I think to myself he should only shoot threes from the corner, but I look up his stats during a time out and see his percentage is exactly the same corner and other. He's an odd basketball player, but his faceguarding of Murray both was effective and gave Jaden a much needed break. Kudos to Clark and Finchy,

I'm a little ashamed to admit I also cringed on the two Gobert assists you mention. On the first one, I yelled at Conley for getting the ball to Rudy in that spot...goes to show veterans see things developing on the court that I don't see. And I thought his pass to TJ was a grenade...nope. I love being wrong.

I unfortunately accidently saw the score last night before I went to bed so when I watch this morning I knew the outcome.

Conley was good in this game and actually looked to score and succeeded.

TSJ did what we hoped he would/could do.

McDaniels came to play on both ends.

Randle was pretty good.

Gobert was going for a triple double with assets! Lol how offense outside of 3 feet this year while of course still has cringe moments has improved.

Clark made an impact on this game. I would like to see him back on this roster even with his flaws.

Heck of a win against a Denver team that did have their own missing players but just lost to a team missing what like 3 of their top 6 players and their leading scorer? Ouch. The Wolves tonight proved me right and Denver did too. Great win.

Monster, I've gotten really good at blurring my eyes when I first look at my phone in the morning when I didn't watch the game the night before just in case the Wolves score is on the screen...it's one of my biggest talents!

I thought it was lovely that the Wolves all wore Donte jerseys yesterday. But the more I thought about it, was it a little weird to do it for Donte and not for Ant? Was Ant in the building last night, or was he Duranting?

That's the Jaden McDaniels that everyone hoped he become. What a great game and I really admire how he stepped up this game (and series). Now he just needs to do that for the rest of the playoffs.

Great team win led by Jaden but a few other supporting cast members also stepped up i.e. TSJ, Conley and finally NAZ had a decent game when we really needed it.

Donte is out for the season. Edwards is coming back!

I'm now calling Jaden Triple M...Midrange Money McDaniels. He's approaching Durant/Kawhi level...shot can't be blocked, and seems almost automatic.

Such an unlikely outcome given we were missing our three most prolific and arguably most effective 3-point shooters. The stats tell it all:

Wolves 3-point percentage: 24%. 2-point percentage: 55%
Rebounding edge: 50-33, with both Rudy and Jaden in double figures.
Assist/TO: Wolves: 26/7. Denver: 24:13
Jamal: 4 for 7 shooting, 0 for 2 on treys.

Yeah, makes sense Monster. But was Ant in the building, and if not, why not?

A lot was made about how Denver and Minnesota don't like each other, but despite a few dustups (and why not, it was a very competitive series), the embraces and handshakes after the game looked sincere...as were the positive post-game comments by the Nuggets. A lot of mutual respect I think.

We don't know where he's rehabbing, maybe in Europe like Luka did to try and speed up recovery, maybe in Atlanta or LA. The main thing for him is trying to return.

I guess we'll find out, but I would hope the Timberwolves have better medical care than anything in Europe...didn't turn out so well for Luka. Until we hear more, I don't like it. I subscribe to what Skalabrine said on NBA Radio last week about Durant: "Go ahead and rehab for 21 hours of the day, but for the other 3, support your teammates". To KD''s credit, he was on the bench for the next game.

There has never been a question about Edwards supporting his teammates.
