Sad to see Cruz go, but certainly the right call. I hope Donaldson can be traded along with Buxton. I am more inclined to keep Berrios. We just don't have luck developing guys better than him. (is it luck or bad development/drafting?)

I think the current front office may be doing better in that dept we just haven't seen those guys yet. Some of that is a little bad luck with injuries especially this season. The previous group honestly just didn't even luck into a top end guy for years. It was pretty bad and so it's also possible Falvey and company had a deficiency in the organization when they started. I think it's fair to say we don't know yet on whether or not they can find and develop those higher end guys.

3 Twins pitchers combined to allow only 17 runs.

Meanwhile 5 Twins hot HRs including 2 each from Sano and Jeffers and they still lost. Rooker is launching balls the shortest one was only to the 2nd upper deck. I doubt he can keep this up but it's been a nice run since being called up.

Fun to see the recent power surge...gives a little hope for next year. But that pitching though...

I'm not blaming Falvine for the terrible results of their off-season pickups. I liked the deals when they happened, but every pitcher they brought in has performed much worse than their previous record. Check this out:

Shoemaker: 8.08 ERA this season compared to 4.24 career

Happ: 6.77 compared to 4.13

Robles 4.91 compared to 4.03

Colome 4.82 compared to 3.10

And the same thing with their one lineup pickup: Simmons is batting .213 with 3 HRs compared to a career averages of .265 and 7 HRs.

I would argue that if each of these 5 guys had performed at their career averages, the Twins would have challenged the White Sox for the division championship. And if...IF...Buxton had stayed healthy, they would have won the division easily. That's why I'm calling 2021 bad luck rather than bad executive decisions.

I don't bring back any of the above pitchers except Colome...he's Nelson Cruz's best friend and the key to bringing him back to DH next season. It's worth a chance on a bounce back season for Colome.

The Twins made history last night, and not in a good way. They became the first team in MLB history to outhomer and opponent by 7 and LOSE! Before last night, since 1901 teams with 7 more homers than their opponent were 41-0. Weirdest team and season ever...

I actually think brining back Robles wouldn't be a bad idea assuming he is cheap. He has struggled more lately but I think if the Twins were slotting him into a role where he wasn't one of the top guys in the pen he would be quite useful.

The same might be said for Colome. Obviously I hope we bring back Cruz for a few reasons but I also wonder if someone could take his spot as DH and we could spend that money on pitching. None of the other guys are anywhere near as proven as Cruz though.

Ober with another solid outing and even got a hit. Even if Ober just turns out to be a reliable back end of the rotation guy that would be a nice development for a team that really needs starting pitching.
