ESPN Top 10 FA Coaches

4. Vinny Del Negro | Career win/loss: 210-184 (0.533)
Former teams: Bulls, Clippers
Reputation: Players' coach
Del Negro has left two teams better off than they were before he got there. In Chicago, he led an eight-game improvement from the previous year that saw offensive efficiency rise by almost five points per 100 possessions and made the playoffs in both seasons (with the third-highest defensive FG% in 2009-10), despite injuries and midseason roster upheaval. With the Clippers, Del Negro led the franchise to its first division title in 2012-13, a top-five offense, a top-10 defense and one less win than it achieved in 2013-14 under Doc Rivers. Del Negro has drawn a lot of flak for a playbook that was heavily reliant on the pick-and-roll, but he actually ran less pick-and-roll than the 2013-14 Clippers, according to Synergy.

The argument against Del Negro, a players' coach, has been that he has benefited from talented rosters, although that does not take into account his role in improving the roster via player development, with players like Joakim Noah giving Del Negro credit for helping them grow and instilling confidence. He also did a good job of managing egos and minutes.

Wolfson "Stated that I can see coaching news late next week or the week of the 16th. Now wouldn't be surprised if it's much sooner."

Fan " @DarrenWolfson Are we going to like the news? Or have you no clue who?"

Wolfson "Conjecture would lean me to believe yes. More process of elimination and educated, or semi-educated guessing."

Didn't throw out a name so who knows. He's floated a surprise candidate for awhile would have thought a name would have leaked out.
