Ill take credit for this one. I didnt even know it was happening. Reverse jinx at its finest. Go Wolves. Go Dlo.

My big take away

-Wolves are good when Dlo plays good
- Gobert and Kat destroyed Evan Mobley
- Wolves played with heart
- Slow Mo was fantastic
- Prince continues to play great
- Ant was not good but he played within himself what is good.
- Mcdaniels temper is really starting to show. Flat out shoved Robin Lopez and then got a killer T when he fouled out. It's year 3 but we are seeing why he lead the PAC 12 in technicals (he was solid tonight)
- Don't feel like the wolves collapsed, massive props to Garland. Understand why Rosas wanted him so badly
- If the wolves play like they did tonight they are going to go on a run here.
- one last thing, Rudy made 2 key defensive plays late, Kat made a huge cut late and Ant struggled but shut the door with a mid range jumper

Fun game

Glad you mentioned McDaniel's temper, Kek. I didn't really see it last season, but you're right that it's really starting to show this season. Now I understand what when on in his one college season. I'm not troubled by it thought. I'd much rather have someone with a hot temper than someone who just smiles. A player with a hot temper is as player with passion - someone who is competitive and who cares. You can harness those attributes and control the temper, but you can't create passion in a player if it doesn't exist in the first place.

I thought tonight was the first game that provided more than just a glimmer of hope that the KAT-Rudy pairing can work. On the other hand, I'm not going to get excited about this win. We beat a team that was missing two of its best three players and still almost lost after having a 20+ point lead in the 3rd quarter. It's clear that KAT is getting his game back after missing training camp and losing a lot of physical strength just before the season with a serious virus that put him in the hospital. It's also clear that SLO MO is a huge asset for this team. Love the way he plays. Prince continues to look good. And I see McDaniels as being on the cusp of breaking through as a really good two-way player.

Having noted all the positives, it took a stellar game from DLO to eek out a win over a depleted Cavs team. And unfortunately, we haven't seen a lot of consistency from DLO since he's been here. Maybe things are about to change, but we'll see. Ant still looks like he's not as explosive as he should be and his handle looks like it needs a lot more work than I thought going into the season. I've always loved Garland since he entered the draft and really wish Rosas had gotten him. However, far too many of his shots in the 4th quarter were totally uncontested and that's not acceptable. In other words, I still don't trust our perimeter defense. As for Gobert, if he's not dunking or setting a pick, he looks pretty bad on the offensive end. On the other hand, gotta love his defense, especially that last defensive play to secure the win.
But it's hard to overlook the fact that Rudy was a -13 tonight. And while I really like McDaniels' potential and think he might be poised to break out, I can't overlook the fact that he was also a -13 with only 2 rebounds tonight. His inability to rebound well is really problematic for this team, which continues to struggle on the boards in spite of KAT and Rudy.

Good to get a win tonight. I'll take any win we can get. And I thought, as you did, that there were some good signs for the Wolves behind the fact that we won the game. It's all about progressing. The Wolves need to build on this win going forward. I continue to have my doubts about this team, but I've never entirely dismissed the possibility that this team can put it all together, make the playoffs and advance. There's a long way to go, but tonight was a start.

Lip, not to rain on tonight's parade, but the Cavs were actually missing three key players. Dean Wade was also out, and he has been fabulous this season...playing great defense and hitting half of his 7 threes per game. But still it was a much needed win, and a really fun game.

Can't add much to Kek's summary...he hit all the salient points. DLo, SloMo and KAT were terrific, and you can't say enough about Garland. A very enjoyable game to watch. If only we could get this Dlo every night, or frankly, even 1/3 of the time. But...

Combined with the Vikings win in perhaps the greatest football game I have ever seen, this was a very good day for Minnesota sports.
