We've all read reports that Rosas looked into trading for Gordon, but it's not clear how serious he was or what might have been on the table. I haven't read anything to suggest that Rosas showed any interest in acquiring Turner, Adams, Whiteside or Randle. Whiteside would have been a cheap free agent signing. The others would have required a trade to get here. I wonder what draft-day deals were possible for any of these guys. Bottom line is that any one of these five players would have been a great addition for the Wolves.

I was big on trading for Turner. The guy is not perfect next to KAT, but he is the main reason Indiana is so great defensively. He is a monster on defense. Whiteside and Randle I would pass on. Gordon I would entertain but not for too much value. Not that we have much anyway.

I'd love to know what it would have taken to acquire Turner in a trade. And I'd love to know what, if anything, we offered for Gordon. If the price for either one had been Johnson, Culver, #17 and #33, would you have done the deal?

We could have signed Whiteside for only a small portion of our MLE. He ended up signing with Portland for $2.3M. Instead we used most of our luxury cap space to sign Juancho for $7M. I'll be we could have gotten Randle from the Knicks for Johnson and #17. But hat would have meant not trading for Ricky.

I would not have traded that for either Myles Turner or Aaron Gordon. Remove Jarrett Culver and it's a bigger possibility I'd go for it, but it's hard to say if either Indiana or Orlando were ready to move those guys for that on draft night.

Also, Julius Randle would be awesome with this group.

Supposedly Orlando turned down something similar to what the Blazers traded for Covington. No thanks. Indiana supposedly offered Turner to get Gordon Hayward and Supposedly Ainge turned that deal down. Like Cam Culver and those 2 picks it too much for either guy. Personally at this point I'd rather see Naz Reid play minutes that Whiteside or something other center would play even if Whiteside was a great signing for the money. Whiteside signed with the Kings but I get some of these guys mixed up also Lip! Lol

I wouldn't really be excited for Julius Randle on this team.
And I think Whiteside is MUCH more trouble than he's worth.

Both are inconsistent and have a certain amount of value for very real reasons.

That being said... it was laughable what the team saw last night from two of its four "bigs." There's not even any analysis to be taken from it... they were absurdly terrible. Hernangomez missed a point blank layup without anybody near him... and he's 6'9"

Johnson and 17 is the most I would have offered for any of those three, to be more specific.

I wouldn't have done 17 and Johnson for Randle. I would have given up something similar to what they gave up to get Rubio basically allowing the Knicks to trade up and the Wolves still having a couple picks to make in the draft while getting Randle.

That layup miss was so bad. Almost as bad as Rubio's throw at the backboard.

Agreed. Though I think Randle could have been had for Johnson, 33, and a future 2nd.

I just dont like him as a player or as a fit here. I'm unsure why you do. He is a black hole on offense.

Maybe you can extrapolate a bit on why you like him so much? Because from the limited viewing I have seen, he is Shabazz in a PF body, just with an added spin move.

Our Spaniards cant dunk or make layups, or 3s, or stay in front of their man. Good thing we had no need for that 24 million.

I would have traded #17 and Johnson for Myles Turner. I'd have thrown in #33 too if necessary. I wouldn't have done that deal for either of the other two I mentioned. We'd have Turner instead of Ricky, McDaniels and Bolmaro. Turner would provide size, rebounding and rim-protection alongside KAT. And he can hit threes, which work in Gersson's system.
