The Wolves are the type of people to wait til the priest asks you to marry your bride in order to finally say no.

What?! This is nuts. We need some freakin' stability with this franchise. This dude wasn't perfect (who is?), but he wasn't killing us either. Seriously, we haven't had stable leadership in over a dozen years, and how many of those guys have been better than Rosas? Flip, I guess, maybe.

We have such a reputation as a completely dysfunctional franchise. How does this help that? There has to be something huge behind the scenes that we don't know about, otherwise this just doesn't make any sense to me. You gotta give a GM more than 2 years unless they are completely burning the franchise down somehow. Just, what?

Fantastic News!!!!

The Timberwolves are promoting VP Sachin Gupta as the new head of basketball operations, sources tell me and
@JonKrawczynski
. Gupta becomes the first person of Indian-origin to run a basketball organization.

I'll add that he's only on an interim basis right now while the ownership trio conducts a broader search. Hopefully, Sachin Gupta is part of that. I'm not usually one to pound the table for an internal promotion, but I'm not sure how many candidates are more deserving than Gupta at this point. I know Elton Brand isn't the right move, though. The fact Gupta's been a significant part of this roster's construction would be a bonus to keep around in addition to his qualifications.

Camden wrote:"He was having an affair with his personal assistant. Marc Lore interviewed everyone and found out Gupta walked in on him doing the deed. Also he didn't work well with anyone and everyone hated how he went alone making decisions. This is probably from Marc Lore.

Heard from someone who works there. Gupta had two job offers as well from the Rockets and another team. Rosas blocked it. He was not loved by anyone there."

The above is unvalidated and definitely just a rumor at this point, but this would be a valid reason for dismissing him, in my opinion. You can't have that running your organization. I'd like to hope none of that is true, but we've seen crazier things.

What's the source for that information? If true, this makes sense. But we need to try to verify rumors before drawing any conclusions.

Did you read the entirety of my post or not? No conclusions were made and I specifically said it was unvalidated information at this moment. I shared the rumor here as it could be an explanation for the Wolves' unexpected news of the day. That's it.

I just don't know how we blindsided Kat again.

Also don't get how if you are going to do the firing why let rosas do the whole offseason. Same thing happened with Thibs.

Taylor/Lore/Arod have to right to fire whoever they want just terrible timing

Agreed, kek. The absolute least they could have done was given Karl-Anthony Towns the news first before it was released. A phone call takes five minutes. Instead he finds out the same way everyone else does. That's just great.
