Yep Wolves have had 7 qualifying lineups. 3 positive, 3 negative, 1 that has been break even

Then off the bench we got Rick, Beas, Nowell, Vandy and Naz. Did I miss anyone? Juancho and Layman may get spot minutes if any player seems to be off.

I think that would provide a nice balance of shots to go around and defense in both lineups.

Can easily give Beas more minutes if Ant is struggling too and so on like on nights like tonight. More options will certainly hopefully lead to more wins.

Any thought to keeping Ricky as the starting 1?

I do think that could easily happen, but we'll see. Prior Rubio was playing horrible (for most of the season), it just might work this time around that he's eliminated his turnovers and hitting shots.

If Rubio is staying in the starting lineup the odd man likely out is still Beas. I don't know if going small night in and out is a successful strategy. You can't really sit Ant after he has been showing progress.

Oh and I forgot Culver was on the team still. We got 3 guys who will be fighting to get minutes, barring any trades.

After what we saw earlier this season... I have reservations with Rubio on this roster with a healthy team... even with him playing much closer to the Rubio we expected.

They have to see what they have with Russell. There's no other choice. And if Rubio gets in the way of that... I wouldn't be surprised to see him traded.

He's simply not going to dig playing 20 mpg for a losing team. I don't think it's good value on $17M... and he might be one of the very few options the Wolves have to make a trade for value.

You have to consider the timeline of course as well, and Rubio doesn't fit that. I think we'd be all fine trading him, letting Nowell and McLaughlin challenge each other for primary backup PG duty.

I think Nowell has shown be enough though, his scoring is superior to Jordans.

I like the way you think, and also agree with Drew's post. I wish dlo had the mental maturity, because it would be a fun starting lineup, but he's clearly shown that he doesn't. I'd be really interested to know what the trade market for dlo is. If we could trade him in a 3 team deal for Collins (atl obviously wouldn't want dlo) only giving up a lottery protected 1st, I'd be totally on board. Or if we could offload him for a 2nd and some shorter contracts, I'm down. Otherwise, might as well give them a chance to play together and see if finch can be a dlo whisperer :) I think Beasley fits much better with edwards, kat, etc. I'm convinced that the wolves will trade a perimeter player at the deadline. Could be dlo, Beasley, Rubio, nowell or others (hopefully dlo).

Also, I think the emergence of nowell and the fact that edwards had shown real point guard skills makes either dlo or Rubio expendable. You know my first choice, but I would trade Rubio before Beasley too, just because you don't trade a guy like Beasley when you already have so many guys that are bad shooters.

Both Phoenix and Utah got better after Rubio was traded. Further proof that no matter what leadership he brings to the table it doesn't automatically make the team better off. Especially at 17 mil a year. His qualities as a player are easier to find at a discounted price in order to use that extra money on players that bring more talent to the table. Shooting trumps every skill Ricky brings at this point. IMO

Not that Ricky Rubio's the singular reason for this Wolves team losing or even at the top of that list, but how is this board not exhausted of watching them lose with him in uniform? This is his seventh season in Minnesota and they are 183-335 (.353) in those seasons and counting. Maybe he's just not the straw that stirs a winning drink. Frankly, I'd like this franchise to distance itself from the losers of its past and try anything different. Give me a team full of shooters. Give me a team full of rangy, explosive athletes. Give me a team that defends like crazy but struggles to score. Anything besides what we've seen from the past. And that includes Rubio.
