If he proves capable and can do so on both ends of the court, then by all means give him more rope and see where the wall is with him this year, but I think it'll be a slower development with him considering his age, years invested into basketball, and the team that surrounds him.

I wouldn't say that's that high of a bar to achieve, but I just want to see Anthony Edwards in constant attack mode. Get to the rim!

I thought he looked great last night. Would have been my 2nd choice behind wiseman after last night. I'm good with edwards too though

I guess the game notes list the probably starters:

Russell, Beasley, Okogie, Layman, KAT

I can't say I have a problem with that...

A 19 - 45 team gets the #1 draft pick. And it has "two all stars" including a former All NBA player back healthy... and the over/under is still only 28.5... and that #1 pick can't break through on THAT team?

Yes, there's a lot of depth. Beasley, Okogie, Culver and Layman.

If the draft was THAT bad that the very best prospect can't beat out those guys... we made a HUGE mistake not trading the pick. No other way around it.

WIN GAMES. That's the goal of any organization. Not three years down the line. WIN GAMES. NOW.

Abe, are your expectations for Edwards or for the team as a whole? I think it's more fair to expect more from the team as a whole than from Edwards specifically. Either way, I think we all share your desperation for winning, no matter how we set our expectations.

I'm kind of interested in getting a look at McDaniels and Vanderbilt. Even more than with Edwards, I'm not expecting much, especially from McDaniels. But right now we're probably looking at a lot of Jake Layman and RHJ backing up Juancho, which is . . . uhhhh, underwhelming. I know those guys are ok, but that's probably the ceiling with all of them. If we're going to have a shot at a pretty interesting 4 who is on the roster now, it'll have to be one of those two. If it happens, it'll also probably be awhile. But if McDaniels can just focus on staying in front of his guy defensively, closing out on shooters, picking up a couple help blocks, and hitting catch and shoot 3s, then he could be interesting if he puts on weight over the next couple years.

Do we still have McLaughlin?

My guess is that we will see multiple starting lineups over the course of pre-season with this being one of them. Is Juan Hernangomez not playing tonight?

Truth. If he can't rise above that group nothing else really matters.

Thanks. So I guess Culver is our backup pg? If DLO plays primarily SG. I guess they'll do plenty of different lineups
