Portland wins easily against the Bucks with CJ dropping 40.

Wizards losing badly to the Mavs. If you want to talk about team that seems like a mess from the outside looking in...how much longer are they gonna keep things the status quo?

The Nets thump the Suns. How much longer is Ariza gonna be a Sun? Remember he can veto any trade which would give him leverage and could allow him to basically demand a buyout if that's the way he wanted to leave and therefore go where he wants. He isn't having a great season but have you seen the PGs that the Suns have...well really they don't have any although i like the idea of Booker creating for others. Ariza is 2nd on the team in assists with 3.8 per game. Also that Lavert guy is doing some pretty nice things. I haven't seen him play for a while but he may be exceeding my expectations for him (I was a fan of his diverse talent) coming into the league if he could just stay healthy.

They are healthy and talented, along with the wolves, the wiz need a new coach.

The Milwaukee Bucks beat the Warriors 134 to 111 last night at Golden State. So yes, the Bucks are for real. They are now in second place in the East with a 9-2 record. What's happening in Milwaukee illustrates the importance of coaching in the NBA. Yes, they're talented. But the difference between last season and this one obviously goes further than the addition of Illyasova and PC, although their front office has made a number of impressive decisions - acquiring Middleton in 2013, drafting Giannis, and drafting Brogdon, along with acquiring Bledsoe, Illyasova and PC.

It's still an impressive win but GS was without Draymond. Also that front office isn't the same guys that drafted and acquired some the guys you mentioned. Brooks lopez was a nice addition also. Assuming Thibs doesn't continue his magical metamorphosis (lol) we need to hope a guy like Bud becomes available for us. Last year i was debating with my good friend who was a Bucks fan about how McHale might be the best option at coach for that roster because there simply wasn't an obvious option. i like McHale but he and the other guys available weren't in the same coaching tier as Bud.

Also I just saw than Curry left middle of the 3rd with an adductor strain. Looks like Quinn Cook has a nice game likely attempting to replace him.

It's crazy they are losing with Jeff Green that's you know kinda like Lebron.

A coaching change may help but who? Scott Brooks is more of a guy that's a players coach. I don't see a my way or the highway or just tough coach like say SVG type working. There isn't a transformational type coach that's gonna take them to a new level that's available. If there was a guy like that Wolves fans would be heralding the person's name every other post. So yeah I agree with you Abe they need more than a coaching change but I don't even know where the help would come from if that was the move they made. Which might be why they haven't looked to make that move at this point.

I saw a story the other day that said if Wall was traded this season he would have a trade kicker than would add nearly 40 million to his contract.

Speaking of contracts Brooks still has a few years left of that 5 year 35 million dollar contract left which could be another reason why they aren't exactly quick to make a move.

Sure. You can fire the coach. But maybe they should be looking at the front office after that decision...

Speaking of coaches... how can anybody not have some empathy for Mike D'Antoni.

He's been wildly successful as a coach... when not bogged down by me-first ballhogs from a different generation of basketball like Kobe Bryant and Carmelo Anthony.

So it's funny that after Anthony directly led to his firing in NY... D'Antoni was "convinced" to give it a go again with Anthony in Houston. Could Anthony get D'Antoni fired again?

And will D'Antoni's eventual auto-biography include Anthony excerpts that make George Karl's anti-Anthony takes seem tame and complimentary?

D'Antoni bugged me at some of his stops before he got to the Rockets but I absolutely thought he was in a bad spot and the roster did not fit him in either place. The Rockets made a ton of sense. Interestingly even before Melo played a lot in isolation. It was a different though because of the 3 point shooting on the roster and obvious emphasis on that plus the high level passing ability of BOTH Harden and Chris Paul. I think the Rockets will figure it out and come back from this and be pretty good assuming they stay relatively healthy. It would be interesting if they keep struggling and they went all in (relatively speaking) on getting Butler.
