I watched some highlights from his first could games. His passing actually looked pretty impressive. I dont know how much that will translate to the NBA level but he looked better doing it than Trae Young who is touted as a very good passer coming out of college. Trae Young din't back down from Allen so that's a positive for him.

Allen is a very skilled player overall, but he's one of these guys that just might be a half-beat away from having any meaningful NBA success....or end up being an invaluable cog to some team. I really don't know. Someone could sway me either way on that guy.

I've been trying to figure out which online package will be best to get all the games. One part I am confused by is it seems that some games might be carried by NBATV and one of the ESPN channels maybe ESPNU.

I had the Choice package, which included ESPNU, but not NBA-TV. I switched to the XTRA package which includes NBA-TV. It's something like $12 a month more, but it will be prorated for only the time I keep it, which will be through the end of Summer League.

Ok maybe I will go for something with NBATV to be safe.

Well, you may want to follow Yogi's advice: "you can observe a lot of things by just watching".

I'm also intersted in how Lucas III interacts with the players. He is definitely a Thibs guy (played for him both in Chicago and here, and they both have nice things to say about each other publicly), and it's ironic that he could be Thibs' eventual replacement. He's a high quality guy with a great pedigree (I always admired how his dad bounced back from his drug and booze issues to become a well respected guy in the NBA) and seems like the kind of guy Taylor could get behind. He hasn't coached yet, but Thibs says he is a sponge with respect to coaching knowledge and was always like a coach on the court. How great would it be if a 35-year-old guy like Lucas turned out to be a smart basketball guy that our young players could also really relate to and learn from.

You shouldn't get ahead of yourself. I'm doing it a bit on a different level hoping he rises to be a bigger influence than just some player development guy with a bit of a fresh take on things. If you want to get on the John Lucas III (should we go with JL3? Lol) bandwagon here is more!!!

The NBA has some programs for current players to get ready for their next job in the league. JL3 has done that at least 2 times. He has assisted his dad in his various coaching businesses and stuff he has done. He has been afforded some advatages because of his dad but it doesn't seem like he is the type of guy (or his dad the type of guy that has gifted him anything) that feels entitled etc. It seems like he has taken advantage of his opportunities. Thibs clearly seems to value him quite a bit. I'm also interested in what some of their other coaching hires are. They also need to replace a couple guys from the Iowa Wolves that got positions in other organizations with the NBA squads.

Watching some summer league games tonight. I signed up for Hulu TV free trial. I'm not sure what to think of it so far but it also allows me to watch all the ESPN channels on the app which is pretty handy. all the games are available on replay there.

Kyle Collinsworth is a guy I am interesting in watching some more. He is a bigtime do shit guy but isn't a 3 point shooter and not a good FT shooter. He is basically a wing sized guy that can run the point. Dallas waived him but he is playing on their Summer league roster.

We had a Sam Cassell Jr sighting for Washington. He doesn't look anything like his Dad. He also didn't play anything like his Dad...

Our SL team just feels scrappy.

So far they can't shoot and can't defend.

They'll fit on this team like a glove.

Okogie is playing with a ton of energy. I'm a fan.

KBD has not looked particularly good. The good news is his length looks legit.

Lip's guy Charles Cooke looks better this year so far. Much more aggressive.
