His decision to opt out was borderline-AK foolish. Call his agent, give him a FIRM LOW number and a deadline. If he gets a stupid offer and you lose him, such is life. But if he's healthy and you get him, you get 12 minutes of GOOD S/F play. Then you can avoid a bidding war with Bazz and AW can play more SG.
A bidding war for Bazz? Please, stop.
Somebody is going to make an offer to Bazz. If a second team does, be it MIN or someone else, you now have a bidding war, unless one drops out, at which point you simply have a player signing with a team. Sorry about your unfortunate Ricky/Dragic comment, but following me all over cyperspace and nitpicking my posts won't fix it.
Get over yourself. And yes, the thought of a bidding war for Bazz is just plain ridiculous.
Bazz will get multiple offers and is a very curious case this offseason. I don't want him back but he has 2 nba skills in rebounding and post offense that make him valuable to teams. Still young also.

Ricky just because you don't value Bazz doesn't mean someone else like Jason (who is a Bazz fan) can't and even have some merit to it. Of course not many folks around seem to have any interest in the merits of Bazz so I have moved on to other things.

Why are you defending Jason? He doesn't like the fact that I value Ricky highly and initiated the snide remarks. In my opinion, Ricky is a more valuable player than Dragic. Ricky's RPM and WinShare are better than Dragic EVERY YEAR since RPM came out, but more importantly Ricky is 26 and Dragic is 31. That's very important. Dragic also makes more money. I have ZERO interest in trading for Dragic and giving up the better pick is outright ludicrous.
Ah yes another thread with TeamRicky doubling Rubio's value and halving every upcoming free agents asking price where he gets upset when someone calls him out on his wild viewpoint. This is starting to become a weekly occurrence.

Bloop, you made the same comment before, but the notion of doubling and halving values is something that exists in your mind, not in fact. Look at Ricky's WinShare and RPM via ESPN for all the years they publish and then look at Dragic. Ricky wins every year. No doubling or halving needed. Did you know that Ricky is much younger than Dragic? That's a fact, no doubling or halving needed. Did you know Dragic is paid more than Ricky. Another fact, no doubling or halving needed. Dragic is just too old to be worthwhile to this team. He'll be in his mid 30s by the time this team can contend. And its funny you use the term "wild viewpoint" with respect to my facts on Ricky and my opinion that a 26 year old Rubio is more valuable than a 31 year old Dragic but aren't you the person who called Thibs "coach of the year" when he underperformed nearly everyone's expectations?

Uh...no. WS's last year. 7.5 for Dragic. 6.1 for Ricky. Dragic rated better in both offensive and defensive win shares. Value over replacement player Dragic 2.9 to Ricky's 1.7. Dragic PER 19.7 to Ricky's 16.8. All-NBA teams Dragic 1, Ricky 0. Playoff appearances Dragic 2, Ricky 0. Ricky just isn't a better player and hasn't been a better player every year. Dragic has actually had higher WS's than Ricky every year they've both been in the league with the exception of 2015-16 and Dragic still had more defensive win shares that year. All you have is RPM yet again. Your one stat. Well basketball is more than one stat and every other stat says Dragic is a better player than Ricky.
Khan, I used ESPN as my source. See link: http://www.espn.com/nba/statistics/rpm/_/sort/RPM/position/1
My focus is RPM and Ricky leads all four years they list RPM. I have to correct myself since Dragic did lead one year in Win Share but according to ESPN, Ricky led the other three years.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. That's not win shares. That's estimated wins added based on the RPM stat. That's one of the most garbage extrapolated stats I've ever seen.
WINS: "RPM Wins" provide an estimate of the number of wins each player has contributed to his team's win total on the season. RPM Wins include the player's Real Plus-Minus and his number of possessions played.
It's just an extension of RPM and not a real stat. Win shares is completely different and I got my numbers from basketball reference which show the real win shares stat that has Dragic as a superior player every year in the league they've both been in the league except one. The eye test and all the other stats say Dragic is better and has been better ever year but 1. That just makes him a better player so all Ricky has is youth which just means you get the same worse player for longer because he's barely improved since he entered the league.
TheFuture wrote:Let's assume Bazz's best offer is 3 years 9 mil per, would you match?
Good question, Future. I'd consider matching at that price. He's a scorer AND good rebounder at his position. He also brings toughness, which this team needs. I also believe he still has untapped upside. But of course, whether we should sign him, even at that price, depends on the availability of other FA alternatives.
