Chad Hartman reporting that according to a source, the @Timberwolves have a 3-year deal with Jeff Teague

Not bad at all. We get his prime years and hopefully have enough space to do some more damage in FA

On reflection, this isn't bad. Teague is very quick and dynamic. He's a decent 3-point shooter and he's still in his prime. The best thing is that he should cost a lot less than Lowry, which means we should have cap space left over to get another high quality rotation player before we resort to using the minimum salary exception to fill out the rest of the bench. I didn't want to see Ricky go, but I have to tip my hat to Thibs for taking decisive action to improve the team.

I think Teague is a good first step. 15/8 with very efficient shooting numbers. He's not a volume 3pt shooter, but he's league average and he's another guy who can get to the rim and finish or get fouled and hit his free throws at a great clip. Hopefully we got him for sub 20 a year. It will be interesting to see how having 3 guys who can get to the bucket and finish will impact the offense. It's a skill that hasn't been on this franchise for a long time before Wiggins.

Thoughts, are the Wolves done with big moves or is a PF option still in play?

While a PF would be nice, we still stand at ZERO backup wings. Need to make a splash there!

They tendered Bazz's QO. He's not gone yet.

Yup. Although I suspect that two big signings will require them pulling the QO. We'll see...

On a side note, Dunleavy was released today.

Going off the potential Teague signing, he's the style of PG Thibs gets the most out of. Thibs turned a guy like Rose into an MVP and he consistently made backups like Aaron Brooks and DJ Augustine look like very good rotation players. I think Teague will be a good fit under Thibs.

Roughly 18 mil per year. So we spent 4 mil of FA money to upgrade from Ricky to Teague.

The unconfirmed estimate making the rounds on Jeff Teague's expected deal with Minnesota: $55 million over three years

For the record, before the knee injuries Rose was MVP material no matter who was coaching him. He was amazing. Sad to see a star fade so soon.

My favorite of the potential pg market, but still not impressed. A three way with clippers for Beverley and Rubio + 1 + player/2's made so much more sense. This seems more lateral than progressive.

Teague can shoot but cannot defend and is half the passer - albeit he can perform without having the ball in his hands 90%.

Oh, man, Beverley would have been a perfect fit for us. I love that dude's defense.
