Nothing about signing Rose excites me, but then neither did signing Gibson and he's been a key to the teams success. It would not surprise me if Rose is signed and he becomes a positive off the bench.

There is a lot of talk about Thibs wanting to win and I doubt he'd just get the old band back together if he didn't think they each would be a net positive.

"I am legitimately worried fans will revolt and tackle Tom Thibodeau if/when the Wolves sign Rose and give him some of Tyus Jones' minutes."

Not the same thing. Not the same thing. That is not the same thing.

Gibson's game translates to winning games. Good defense, rebounding, opportunistic offense, and all out effort is complimentary on any team in the league. We could debate about how much it's worth and at what level Gibson provides these, but those are what he brings and they're all conducive to a winning style of basketball. That much is for sure.

Rose brings... baggage, and uncertainty, and inefficiency. He literally does not provide anything worthwhile at this stage of his career. He's never been a good perimeter shooter and he still doesn't have that in his game. He's a turnstile on defense. He's not much of a rebounder for his position, though it's not necessarily required of him to be. And his one skill of scoring the basketball has diminished with the loss of explosiveness in his game. He is a very 'meh' player in the game today and one that we do not need in the slightest.

Plus, the baggage and distraction it would cause.

No.

This teams chemistry is just starting to come along. Adding a toxic character like D Rose would undo most of it, even under Thibs watchful eyes.

Sign Belinelli and lets rolls. He's exactly what we need, 42% 3pt shooter. MGH can bring the defense on the wing when required and Marco the floor spacing.

I've been eyeing Belinelli... but I don't know if he ends up here... even though it makes sense for the reasons you cited.

Maybe I'm just not used to the Wolves being Buyout destinations. They've been on the other end a lot more.

It makes sense there would be plenty of teams that would have interest. I would be surprised if the Wolves didn't have some interest. This seems to suggest he will have options. Some teams can pay a decent amount of money (with various exemptions) if he is into getting a couple extra million over a vet min offer.

"Marco Belinelli is finalizing a buyout agreement with the Atlanta Hawks, league sources tell ESPN. Several contenders are interested."

I would go after Marco as the #1 option and if not hopefully Joe Johnson gets bought out so we can get some playoff Joe help.
