I never knew JR Smith was involved in a traffic fatality. My standby joke is always Heatley because it happened here in Orlando when he played for the Atlanta Thrasher's "AAA" team, the Orlando Solar Bears (Get it?), and he then went on to play for the Mild in which somehow manages to avoid the boards for at least a whole season.

JR Smith killed the passenger in his vehicle in 2007 after running a Stop Sign. Previously, he had his license suspended 5 times in an 8-month period. He had 27 points on his record during that time. 5 of the offenses were for speeding.

Maybe he learned though after killing the guy and spending time in jail. He's only had his license suspended 3x since then.

I guess a leopard really can change his spots. Kudos to JR for turning his driving career around. By the time he's 50 he might even be insurable.

After seeing you're post, I googled "J R Smith driving" and saw the stories. So yeah, I could have given it as a more relatable example.
