Rubio should have played to potentially whack his hamstrings and shelf himself for the next 3-4 weeks? Most fans are stupid rubes and it's a well known and safe speculation.

No, they couldn't have won that game last night. If you think that was GS giving full effort in the second half you're very wrong and they would have just put the pedal down sooner if Rubio were in the game and playing well. GS is just not a team the Wolves are ready to run with at this point, not even close.

Or maybe he's on restricted minutes because our training stuff believes that he's not ready for heavy minutes and can have muscle issues if he plays too much and surprise surprise hamstring problems flare up. His body wasn't ready to the season, he even sat out pre-season. It was all predictable but fans start to whine regardless. You don't play through injured quad/hamstrings. Arnie knows it, that's why he sits Rubio out. I don't even think it's up to Sam to decide.

I don't think so. Look at the minutes of all the other guys. Only Wiggins is averaging more minutes than Rubio at about 32 per game. So this conservative stance is being applied to everyone, otherwise I suspect we'd see youngsters like Wiggins and Towns playing 35 minutes +.

Also, we can rationalize all we want about why Rubio is experiencing these issues, but it is what it is. He's missing games and costing us wins. At some point, the "injury-prone" label applies.

Now I'm going all Porky on this board!

Q you sound to me more like you are in my camp. Legit concern about Rubio staying healthy but hoping something turns around but you are concerned. I have been this way for around 2 years and Rubio hasn't exactly aliviated my concerns. Sam brought up Billups when talking about Zach. I'll bring him up in reference to Rubio. Billups had a major struggle staying healthy before coming to MN and that year he missed 5 games and...the rest is history. Billups as I know we have discussed for years is the exception to the rule in so many ways we can't hope for that but MAYBE Rubio can put his injury history behind him too. I didn't think Billups was going to. He really relied on being an athlete as a young player. With Rubio's injuries we won't know for sure till it plays out. I don't really see another option but roll with it at least for this season and evaluate it after that.

There's a ton of anecdotal or statistical evidence to suggest that Rubio wouldn't have led to a Wolves victory.

But if you want to hold your hat on the "possibility" that he would have... cool with me. It's good to be optimistic, I guess.

Just watching the game. GS without Curry is a good, but not great team. I wasn't joking when I made the comment in the game thread that Curry is their starters. There was simply no way with how he was shooting that the game was ever in question. Maybe if he got hurt, but he didn't, and the game was never really in question.

Did you watch the look on Curry's face throughout the game? I'm sure he's more intense during practice than he was last night, he was playing as though it were a pick up game.

I think Rubio might have helped in that first quarter and I do think the Wolves got a moral victory but I do agree the game was never really in question. If the Wolves had made one more play and got it down to 4 maybe... Andre played pretty well so that offsets some of the positive having Rubio for that game. I didn't really think the Wolves had a chance to win the game when it started before finding out Rubio was out so the fact that they didn't get embarrassed feels pretty good. Lol

The game that sucked not having Rubio was the previous game against Charlotte. That game I think we would have won with a healthy Rubio.

He makes it look so easy, doesn't he? Truly a marvel to watch.

We're already on pace to better 90% of the wins predictions on this board. Everyone should be ecstatic. Sam should be enshrined. Go Wolves.

I watched the game too and you can't throw any stats at me to persuade me. Rubio starting would have probably not let Stephen get so many wide open looks and put up 21 in the 1st on Zach. Barkley said it best, Rubio had the curry flu
