Ahh, I am very curious about this statement. At this point in time, outside FT attempts, there is absolutely NOTHING Wiggins does better than GF. The only way you could say this is based on a purely speculative viewpoint of where you personally think the two will go. Statistically, it isn't even close.

Hicks, you are correct in saying "at this point in time, outside FT attempts, there is absolutely nothing Wiggins does better than GF (although actually I think Wig is more careful with the ball), but I still think it's unfair to compare a young player with two years under his belt to one with only his rookie season. One truism most of us here subscribe to is most young players take a big jump in their second and third seasons, so to me the fair way to compare Wig and GA is to compare their per 36 rookie stats. GA still wins in rebounds, assists and blocks, but Wig averages almost 7 points per 36 more than GA, and in a much more efficient manner...I think most pundits would agree he had the superior rookie year, despite playing with a terrible team. Maybe Wig will be the exception and not experience the typical 2nd and 3rd year improvement, but I seriously doubt it...there's just too much talent there. I take Wig long-term.

So Wiggins is not a better scorer? You guys have to watch the games.

Cool, we're comparing them right now. Giannis is averaging 21 a game this season.

That's absurd. Talk about a small sample size.

Look, I'm a big Milwaukee Buck fan - have been since 1970. So I'm not biased here. I love Giannis but he doesn't have the offensive game that Andrew does. I know he shoots a great percentage, but Andrew scores more easily, and in more different ways. Bottom line is he puts up more points.

No way. Wig is struggling and is in a shooting slump at the moment 4 games into his sophomore season. Come on now!

I love the freak but wig is better than him.

We will probably keep seeing threads like this every time wig had a couple of bad shooting games.

Actually, I wouldn't change my vote. I thought it was an interesting question that would draw out some strong opinions. I'm with Q in seeing it as a close call. I ultimately went with GF because of his better handle and higher octane motor to go with his better size. I never thought the first 4 games of the season were indicative of the numbers we'd get from Wiggins over the long haul. And I think history shows that most of the top players showed the biggest improvement in their games between their 2nd and 3rd seasons.

I still love Wiggins talent but I think his ballhandling and lack of fire in his belly will ultimately hold him back from getting the most out of his talent compared to GF. But it was great to see Wiggins be aggressive tonight and break out of his slump. On the other hand, 5-10 from the line is unacceptable. Apparently his back's been bothering him so maybe that's been a big reason for his slow start this season.

The best news of all is KAT. He's the guy we can build this franchise around!

I'm going with Giannis.

We talk about promise. And potential. The best way to judge that is in year-by-year progress. Giannis took a huge leap from Year 1 to Year 2. And (small sample size alert) he seems to have made another huge leap this season. That's all you can ask from these young, athletic, promising talents. Yes. Giannis has another year in the league. And THAT's why I'm choosing him.

He's proven he can improve from one season to the next.
Nothing against Wiggins... but he hasn't yet. It's the NBA. I want to keep my job. I'm going with the proverbial bird in the hand at this point.
