GDT: The return of Nikola
Re: GDT: The return of Nikola
I've been watching the Shawshank Redemption tonight and I can imagine their players with the same attitude as Andy Dufresne, planning their escape.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. I'd like the governor to step in and have the state take over the franchise, because no one seems capable of firing the coach. I promise you guys, this team has a lot of good players and shoud be improving instead of what we are seeing. It's a joke. It really is.

We may seriously struggle to win even 20 games. That is amazing to me.
- Rubio and Wiggins are incompatible offensively. We all know that Rubio can't shoot, but I would hope I speak for most of us in having high hopes that Wiggins would improve his long range shooting from last season. It was always said that his outside shot had "potential". Well, I'm not seeing it. You can't have a starting back court where neither guy is a threat from outside.
- Speaking of Rubio/Wiggins, this team seems to be in a constant state of being unable to put together complimentary pieces on the floor. We never seem to be able to come up with a 5-man combo that "fits" nicely in certain roles. There is always some glaring hole.
- Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah......
I don't know what else to say. This team has serious issues in both coaching and how it's roster is constructed.

Looks like the pep talk at last practice did a world of good.... Not.
Losing to a very average Denver team at home is inexcusable. It showed how much we've regressed offensively under Mitchell as well.
Just when you think this team has hit rock bottom.

The above is what I imagine a Sam Mitchell coaching session sounds like to the players, or the following:

The roster is fine for where we are right now. Ricky and Wiggins can certainly play together, in fact they should be great together. They're just not being put in a position to succeed. You have to work with what you've got. Sam doesn't do that. He's going to make us run this '80's offense come hell or high water. Well the water is getting high, and we look like hell.

Our front office and coaching staff are completely lost and have no direction. Seems like Flip was the only guy that had a clue how to get this franchise over the hump.

Flip deserves credit as POBO for upgrading the practice facility, bringing in Arnie Kander, getting KG back into the fold, and re-loading the roster with some young talent.
Unfortunately, his insistence on also being the coach and half-heartedly engaging in a search was always a problem to me. And it's not just because he left us with Mitchell and Company. I personally didn't think he was a very good coach. He was just as outdated as Mitchell in a lot of ways.

Only the T Wolves could suck the joy out of following a young and promising team.
