2 games in a row now where he has been impressive at PG. And we know if he can play PG, he can play SG which is why Flip is playing him so much at PG. I just don't understand not playing him at SG a bit when he has good opportunity like tonight.

I don't understand why, it feels like we almost go away from him on purpose

It's not uncommon for the inbounder to be given the ball right away.

except that he doesn't. Maybe I'm just imagining things, but it feels like Wiggins doesn't get the ball as often as he should in the 4th quarter of games

A few game notes:
- Defense was fine (OK, except for the defensive rebouding - that was not fine). But the part we really struggle with normally - opponent FG% - we did great in. Held them below 40% from the field overall and below 30% from 3. That's good defense.
- Ricky's shot looks better to me, but damn, ease up a bit. He had a quick trigger a few times down and it just wasn't necessary. This team takes way too many tough contested 2-point jumpers, which is a staple of Flip Saunders' offense. It's one thing for Neal, Wiggins, and Martin to take these shots, but we certainly don't want Rubio taking them too. Ugh!
- LaVine looked about as good as I've seen lately (although he still got his pocket picked clean bringing the ball up the court. That should not happen). Hopefully he can keep it up. It would be a very positive development.
- Payne....I don't know. I love the energy and the bounce, but he was absolutely abused early by Taj Gibson and his offense is still balky. I'll give it time though.....
- Wiggins, c'mon dude, you can't miss that many free throws in a game. You are no longer a rookie in my book - no excuses. That practically cost us the game.
- Dieng looked like a mess out there. He is so weak with the ball, always getting stripped or drawing jump balls. I don't think there has ever been a player I liked so much as a rookie that I've come down on so quickly. I'm tired of his weak hands, poor balance, and just general clumsiness out there. Now I'm being too hard on him, but ugh, so disappointed, And with Pek's balky ankle, we need a long-term replacement. And I don't think it's Dieng.
Well, at least we kept it competitive. We could have used KG out there to help on the D-boards!

Q - Sadly I'm thinking the same way about Dieng. Which increases the importance of walking away from this year's draft with Okafor or Towns.
I also agree with those who think LaVine should have gotten more than 10 minutes tonight and that he should have had some time at SG. Perhaps Flip is thinking that he has a very limited window where he'll have the opportunity to fully evaluate Neal and decide whether to try to sign him beyond this season. But Zach has had two really good games in a row. The game really seems to have slowed down for him. It's time to give him some significant regular minutes at SG next to Ricky to further his development and his confidence. We already know what Kevin Martin can do. So unless flip is trying to showcase Martin to enhance his summer trade value, Flip should not be giving Martin 37 minutes while limiting Zach to 10 minutes - all at the PG position.

I thought a couple weeks back u were more interested in just trying to win games?

im still interested in winning games, but watching Dieng continue to regress gives me pause. I'll put it this way. If we end up with a 2nd pick I'd probably take Towns. Two weeks ago I would have taken Mudiay.
