Who said the 76ers are "the way to go"? I just said I'd be fine as a fan if my team chose to take that gamble as long as I wasn't a season ticket holder having to pay to watch them tank.

You say no team has won that way, but most teams wouldn't have the stability/support for GM/ownership to make that move, so it's never been tried before.

Here's what I CAN say...if the Cavs end up becoming a contender with the group they've been drafting from the tanking attempts, then the fan base will forgive them VERY quickly.

My point was that it's a crime to tell a fan base "come back in 3 years, no reason to tune in now" and doing it on purpose

I understand what you're saying alex...but just look at this Wolves board... You've got half the people who want the team to be competitive and be in the playoff mix every year, while you have the other half wanting to take the gamble of blowing it up in order to try to strike rich and build a contender. It just so happens that the 76ers are taking that second approach as an organization and hoping it works out. I really have no idea what their fan turnout was before they traded Iggy/Jrue.

Coming as a fan of a franchise that hasn't made the playoffs in 10 years, I would absolutely sell each and every one of you up the river for a 1 and done playoff run
