If Flip planned on trading Love and rebuilding a bit, I'd think that he'd let his coach-in-waiting get his feet wet with experience from the start that way he could develop relationships, trust and fits within his system. That is if the coach-in-waiting isn't still coaching at Iowa State...
But yeah, I think Flip's not gonna trade Love now.
Or or, maybe the whole reason Flip is doing this is that he had a set list of options to coach that declined due to them finding out there will be a Love trade. If Flip were in this to coach for the long haul, I could see him trying to keep Love but if he is just bridging the gap to someone on his list, then I dont think this has any impact on their plan to trade Love. I am, however, starting to suspect that the Wolves are interested in getting vets and retooling instead of rebuilding, hence the Bulls rumor, which I am not a fan of.
Maybe Hoiberg told him to deal with the Love situation and get back to him in a year.

Worst post you've ever written, and that's saying something.

I don't see why this changes things. He still has to act with the best interest of the franhise in mind.
Cool - the fact that you took that post seriously says more about you than me. KG hasn't even retired yet and who the hell knows where Wally is. It was a joke. I guess I should have thrown in Darko to help the international guys adjust to NBA life just to clarify the joke.

My bad - I was influenced by my utter disdain for both KG and Mitchell. I saw those two names and had a knee jerk reaction.

Cool, you should have recognized this was satire when Khans suggested we bring in Billups as a PG coach. We clearly don't need a PG coach now that we have PG legend Sidney Lowe signed on the dotted line. I'm hoping Sid will be able to teach Ricky how to play PG like he did...taking the full ten seconds to cross center court, and backing across the line to keep the ball away from evil defenders (does wonders for court vision to play backwards like Sid did :furious: ).
I'm gonna leave the negatives of Flip coaching and focus on some positives here and some that I don't think have been mentioned.
Flip has coached a lot of PG talent and a lot of it was on the Wolves and a lot of it was guys he had from the begining or improve after arriving. Marbury, Bobby Jackson (who is on staff), Billups, Troy Hudson, wasn't athony Carter a guy that kinda got his start to his decent career under Flip? Anyway then you have TB Cassell that played very well under him and Porter was a old mentor vet for him. So Flip has a lot of experience coaching PGs and that was the Wolves guys. None of them were as poor shooters as Rubio but Flip has experience coaching PGs and Rubio is the guy I think we would all agree could use some significant improvement and maybe confidence.
Flip knows the players and in some cases brought them to the team because he likes them. By the time the season starts The roster will be at leat a 3rd if not more of Flip players. Who better to coach them than the guy who wanted them in the first place?
I do think this means the Wolves are going to play things out with Love this season. Flip probably is a better idea at HC than most of those guys out there and brings some shred of constistancy to Love. Flip has praised Love from the time he took over like he should have. Does Love beieve in Flip? Heck if I know but he probably believes in him more than some of the coaches we may have brought in. Its gonna be interesting to see how this plays out.
To me Flip runs a system of jumpshooting at least when he was wolves coach but it seemed like he was able to get a lot out of various guys and wasn't overbearing on anyone. That's the type of guy it seems like some guys need like Shved, Bazz, Rubio and maybe Dieng for sure possibly others. I think this team could benefit more from a guy that's more of a positive feedback guy as opposed to Adelman who I think has gotten his results but even he has said sometimes a different voice is good. Mitchell might be the fiery leader as an assistant that may be helpful idk.
Flip will have the guys on the roster he wants he can only blame himself. That can be a good thing when the coach gets guys he wants as long as there isn;t too much straying from overall talent choice.
Also keep in mind that Adelman is still a consultant so Flip can call and talk shop when he wants. That might help him in a duel role. Also what if there was another coach and Flip calls Adelman and Ricks says I think Coach should be doing ...... And Flip says yeah that's a good point how well is that other coach going to respond to Flip telling him what Adelman thought might be a good idea? My point is Adelman's abilities might not be too useful in that situation. They may be more usefuk to Flip as coach idk. Adelman might not say much either way. Lol

I know, I totally missed the boat here. Ricky has more instincts in his navel than Sid had in his head. How are those conversations going to go? "Ricky, what did you see there? I was still 2 plays behind and missed it."
I realize now that on one of those joke coaching lineups I thought when people said "Sid" I mistakenly thought they meant Sid Hartman. That was even more funny. Lol
Sidney Lowe can make a great case for the worst head basketball coach of all time.
Honest. Check out his career record in the NBA. Then, check out his college coaching resume. Then, check out how well NC State did immediately before and immediately after Lowe left.
