Lakers didn't make strong impression in Aldridge meeting, sources say. Spurs can close on him. LMA expected to make decision fairly soon.
Haha yeah, and this after a "source" in LA saying the meetings went "really well." What a joke.
On a separate note, Carroll is heading to Toronto, and Millsap might bolt to Orlando. Atlanta's team is crumbling!

I really want Love to end up with the Lakers. I think that would pretty much doom them.
Agreed Bleed, I want to keep the Lakers down as much as possible. If they get Love and Jordan, they are effectively capping their potential at something below title contender.
The worst team in the league also having one of the worst cap situations. It should be the inverse shouldn't it?
Oh, gotcha. Yeah, I guess so.
The Wolves are in a unique spot. How often has the worst team in the league been almost universally heralded for having such a bright future?
This is true also. Even though we have some bad contracts still on the books.
Only Pekovic is really bad. And with the skyrocketing contracts elsewhere... it's not going to be crippling.
I'm not worried about the Wolves' financial future. I'm worried that the players don't develop as much as we think they can/should.

I actually sorta like that pairing. Love NEEDS a guy like Jordan behind him.

It wouldn't be good enough though. If Griffin, Jordan, and CP3 can't get it done, neither can Love, Jordan, and Russell.

My biggest concern is how good of a job our training staff does. And how much luck we have on the injury front. We have known concerns like Pek, Martin, and Rubio. Let's hope no new ones develop this year. A Wiggins injury takes a lot of wind out of our sails.

Oh, for a title? No. But it makes for one helluva one year turnaround...
And the Lakers will have the ability to keep that core and add AT LEAST one more star player next offseason without Bryant and with more cap room... after all the stars out there see how much improvement the Lakers have made.

With the way the cap is going to raise, if they were able to get Jordan this offseason and Kobe finally goes away after this year, you could see them going after Durant hard when the cap goes up, and then their team could look like this:
PG: Russell
SG: Clarkson
SF: Durant
PF: Randle
C: Jordan
If you're the Lakers, this would be a phenomenal turnaround. Your health, bench, and young player development would dictate your championship chances, but that's a nice lineup on paper. And to your point, they would probably still have room for another max level player next year, or the year after that (Hello Russell Westbrook, moving Deangelo to SG).

They would also have Randle as a nice trade piece or as a player. I like Scott as a coach but he isn't exactly Doc Rivers but who knows who would be coaching that team if it actually was good. George Karl would likely apply. Lol
