I mean if you are GS are you taking Edwards or Ball? I honestly don't know the answer which is why I think Rosas didn't trade with Charlotte. Edwards fits that team as a 6th man scorer more than Ball as a 6th man creator IMO and they were looking for immediate help. Edwards also has the superior physical profile. Ball is never filing out to look like that. Edwards would seem like the perfect developmental player they could have added to that team for long-term elite potential and especially with Klay going down right before the draft I think that ends up being a slam dunk Edwards pick. Then we are staring down Ball at 3 and that would have been a disaster. After last year's draft trade not going exactly how he wanted I'm not surprised he didn't pull the trigger at the end of the day and just took the guy he wanted.

I think that Klay injury changed it up a smidge.

I am not certain on who becomes the better player between Edwards and Ball. So I understand not trading down. Kay's injury was a big wrench thrown into the system, and I believe Rosas bought it - hook, line, and sinker.

I was cemented on Wiseman coming out as the best player. Still annoyed of what happened.

I'd love to know what deals the Wolves turned down. I doubt we'll ever know, but that might be pretty telling.

Did Charlotte clearly wanted Ball, but did they prefer him over Wiseman and Edwards? Reporting before the draft indicated that Charlotte liked both of those players. So I have to believe drafting Ball would have set us up nicely for a deal with Charlotte knowing the the Warriors would likely take Wiseman. What would Charlotte have been willing to give up for the rights to Ball or Wiseman? If the Wolves had drafted Ball, I suspect they could have gotten something of value in a swap with Charlotte and still gotten their guy Edwards at #3.

Or how about swapping with Charlotte and taking Toppin at #3. It was reported just before the draft that the Knicks really coveted Toppin. The Wolves certainly could have swapped the rights to Toppin for the Knicks #8 and #23 and possibly their Dallas first rounder next year. Options at #8 would have likely included Deni, Vassell and Haliburton. The Wolves could have had Saddiq Bey at #17 and still taken their guy Bolmaro at #23. Oh, and then they could have drafted Daniel Oturu or Tyler Bey at #33. Or perhaps they could have packaged 33 with 23 to move up and get Precious Achiuwa, RJ Hampton or Therese Maxey. Or they could have traded #17 for Ricky and used #23 to draft Azubuike or Desmond Bane.

I'm just not impressed with the Wolves front office. And that's an understatement.

What do you mean Rosas bought it hook line and sinker? Klay literally tore his Achilles and the people in the gym knew it was serious when it happened. That wasn't some draft value ploy to get Rosas to make a wrong move. They had their targets set on Wiseman, but if we trade with Charlotte and Wiseman isn't on the board at 2 then Edwards becomes an obvious fit for them with Klay out. I think the Klay news more than likely had an impact on the top 3 if we were to trade down with someone who wanted Wiseman. And then that would be back to back years Rosas traded before he knew he could get his guy just to end up missing.

We aren't on the same page though because you said Rosas bought into it hook, line and sinker. Klay legitimately got hurt. It wasn't some ploy by the Warriors. Again I ask why you are saying Rosas got duped by something that was real?
