Agreed, these two were an awful pairing in the pre-season. Dis-synergy or something like that.....whatever the opposite of synergy is!
little too much to ask of Thibs to look at previous game tape and make adjustments.
What does he do in his office for all those hours? What does he do in his office for all those hours? It might be time to check his browser history, jk, kinda.
Maybe it would give Taylor grounds for his dismissal.
He alternates between black coffee and cheap whiskey while pacing and randomly yelling "DO YOUR JOB!" at Scott Layden.

Okogie getting the start is quite the development. Thibs going outside of what is expected and it makes sense! Also it makes sense to start him agains the mavs I think it's a favorable matchup for himthe guys he will he facing.
It's highly unusual for Butler to miss a game to rest. That's not in Thibs' character or Butler's. It's one of two things. Butler keeps himself in superb condition year round with an intense off-season workout program. Either a trade is in the offing or his knee is causing him problems. I hope it's the former, but I fear it's the latter.
There is simply no substitute for playing in real games. Butler hasn't been doing that. It looks pretty obvious to me that's part of this. Thibs has actually sat people more than i would have expected. I wasn't surprised at all about this news especially when you see other guys around the league getting rest.
I don't recall Thibodeau EVER sitting top players in a regular season game solely for rest. Pop and other head coaches have been doing it for years. But not Thibodeau. And it's not like Butler's going to ask to sit out. Butler didn't look tired at all last night. But unfortunately, he did look like be came up a bit lame. We can't know for sure, but far more likely that he's sitting out based on an injury or a pending trade.

Watching the Mavs broadcast:
The in studio host is really annoying.
I was doing something else and didn't hear the whole conversation but they were talking about Towns struggling early on and one of the guys was ripping Towns for getting distracted and needed to "get his big boy pants on" Antonio Daniels defended Towns saying the guy is young and saying you can play basketball and get distracted. He made a point and said you hear guys asked about if they are distracted by trade rumors and they say no. Of course it is distracting they are human. He was really passionate about his position.

I think it's legit rest. Thibs is evolving as a coach. He's finally moved into the the 1990s now.

"Butler didn't look tired all night" what?! Dude was laying on the floor tired and he said after the game he was tired and Lue asked him if he was ok. Lol He was clearly tired that's what I saw.

Whoa, Okogie is starting! I didn't see that coming. Thibs is keeping us on our toes here!

Why does everything have to be seen as fake bullshit by this board? Jimmy sitting for rest. "Oh that's just not possible because Thibs is a stubborn ass hole who's never done that ever." You know what else Thibs hasn't done here before that he's already done this year? Properly stagger his good players in the rotation. He also happens to have a 1st round pick sitting there this year giving him actual wing depth to make a move like this hence why Okogie is starting. Not everything coming out is fake bullshit. I think it's clear the dynamic on this team has changed this year with everyone now trying to create an atmosphere to keep Jimmy so I would expect to see more things we aren't used to seeing.
