I can tell you they love him here in Philly already. We'll see how things evolve over the next 18 months or so, but he's made the fans forget about RoCo and Saric pretty damn quickly.

And why not...he's a great player with an engaging personality. We loved him when he first came here too. But have they really forgotten about RoCo and Saric, Q? My understanding is they were the 2 most popular players with the Philly fan base. They may be temporarily forgotten after Butler's great finish last night, but I think fans will miss them when Jimmy misses his 20 games in January and february or when he and Simmons start feuding in 17...16...15...

Well the 76ers just keep on winning, even with Butler being subpar. I haven't watched the games but maybe he is making just an atmosphere impact. Wolves are now 3-2 I believe since the Butler trade...and the Butler's are 4-1 (5-1?)

That's what I'm thinking, LST. I have relatives in Philly and they told me Saric and Covington were absolutely the two fan-favorites on the team. And yes, Butler will start to irritate some of his teammates. And yes, history tells us he'll likely miss around 15-20 games. But he's a great player who, right now, is making the Sixers much better overall.

I'm loving the NBA results tonight...Philly loses at home by 9 at home to woeful Cleveland, and Butler is a minus 20! Only 2 rebounds and 2 assists too. Both teams are now 4-2 since the deal.

And Philly was a top 8 team last year and we, um, were not. So we have to bake that in to the totals as well.

That's not exactly accurate. Wolves were what 1 or 2 wins from being a 3 seed in the west? The Wolves were a pretty good team last year when Butler was healthy.

After the crap jimmy put us through, id like to think that we were a 3 seed because jamal didn't start and we fell to 8th seed because he was starting.

Jamal never started a game for the Wolves but your overall point probably still stands. I think regardless of how someone feels about Butler the guy is a VERY valueable player. Not having him play makes a pretty big difference. Crawford did just hit a game winner for the Suns. :)

Ugly basketball for sure, but we were indeed a top 8 team in the league last year
