Last night's game was winnable only if the Wolves had everything going offensively with a 120-point game. Point totals that high are not unusual in the NBA these days. In fact they're fairly commonplace. Beating the Warriors in their building is a tall order so I certainly didn't expect the Wolves to win last night. But the Wolves are going to have to beat some elite teams this season and that will generally require the Wolves to put on an offensive show in a scoring contest. The Wolves have the talent to do that, but the talent is constrained by Thibodeau's offensive system.

I watched the game but even from the box score you could notice some things. Towns went 8-12 from the FT line what you didn't see was the officials went bonkers calling travels and the Wolves shot poorly from the FT line. There was plenty of points/possession the Wolves could have put up in this game to compete.

It's the same thing it's always been with him, just more bad games. I honestly don't know what's wrong. I think it's clear he doesn't like Thibodeau, but maybe there's more to it than that.

Either his age caught up to him or hes injured. Quite a few of the 30 yr old pgs are taking a nose dive right now like cp3 and lowry.

Hes really bad at post entry passes and making a quick pass to soneone at the 3 pt line. Ive seen both roco and saric jumping up and diwn wziting for a pass, but both teague and rose dont look in their direction. Its slmost as if the other 4 guys are out their as bail out options.

I'm seeing something very different from you guys. Plus people forget all the possessions Rubio dribbled around for plenty of time and did nothing productive either. Teague is playbe some solid D also. Again Teague never gets the benefit of the doubt.

What are you seeing that is different? He's shooting a career low from the field and a multi-year low on 3's. That is not just "what we're seeing", that is what is actually happening. He's gotta start taking and making some shots. Thibs' whole premise in preferring Teague to Rubio is that we needed a more offensive-minded point guard. Rubio is actually more of a threat to score this year than Teague!

We'll see what happens with Lowry... but part of it is him playing such a different style.

His career high for apg is 7.4.

He's leading the league in apg right now at 10.0.

Can John Stockton still play? Man, talk about the ideal combination of a pass-first PG AND elite shooter. Hard nosed defender too.

Im wondering if we shouldn't at some point give tyus a long term look at the starting pg spot.

He does what we need minus a jumper. I don't think he's a bad shooter, he just isnt a confident one. He doesnt need to create as much offense on his own with kat, wiggs, roco, and saric.

I simply don't see how his warts aren't exposed more as a starting PG... vs. elite starting PGs and teams who plan for him more.

He is what he is. Basically, a poor man's Brevin Knight.

I agree with Abe on Tyus. I just think several over value him. +/- numbers are great, but at some point he has to actually show something else. He is outmatched physically, doesn't shoot well, isn't good at finishing or penetrating. I think we can replace him with similar talent with another minimum level player.

I just pray we don't re-sign for a stupid number like we did with both G and Wig.

Choosing Tyus as the alternative is not the answer as I see it. He's a good back up but not worth giving more than 10mins a game to. Just go big with Rose or Teague down the stretch and not both. The answer seems pretty simple.

I'm not ready to give up on Tyus yet based on how he's done as a starter in the past. He's definitely disappointed this year, but he was making steady strides from years 1 through 3. Perhaps he's hit a major ceiling at this point, perhaps not. He's still really young, especially by PG standards.

Sure... but where is that ceiling?

He actively searches for ways not to shoot the ball. That will never cut it as a starting NBA PG. He has to be more aggressive (and effective) scoring the ball to be taken seriously as more than a fill-in starter.

And I like the kid. I hope he resigns... as a backup.
