Slightly disappointed that it's a 2nd rounder and not a first, but it seems like a solid deal overall. I wonder what this new lineup would look like with Rubio instead of Teague...

I would!

I would. Covington is still the best player in the deal.

Covington is similar in age to richardson, makes similar money, and is probably one of the best 3d type wings in the league. And we get a big upside pf.

And most importantly, we didnt have to eat a shitty contract.

Yeah, I think it was pretty clear that we got shitty contracts in both the Miami and Houston proposals. The Philly deal helps the cap situation next year.

This deal is better than the Richardson deal. Why?

Covington comes with zero bad contracts after this year. He is also signed for another season at what will be a bargain rate.

Saric is a legit talent he could be the PF of the future and you can play him some at SF like Belly. He Wolves might have addressed 2 starting positions with this trade and took back no bad contracts. I'm actually pretty happy with this deal.

A first round pick would have been nice but as other have said that 2nd could end up being valueable. What makes this trade even more tidy is that Patton was included. We will know exactly what we got back for Butler now...

Yeah well it would be nice to see a healthy Teague out there.

Definitely, it's possible it'll be a pretty good offense with him as well, I just loved Rubio's hustle, defense and shot generating abilities for teammates.

I honestly don't know that much about Covington who offensively seems like more of a spot up guy instead of a shot creator/ball handler type, although.. that might actually be a really good thing by forcing the team to actually run plays at the end of games and not go with stupid iso hero ball. The defensive versatility of Covington/Saric is awesome though. The lineup with also be quite tall, which I like.

PG might be the logical draft need, but really we could just draft best available.

I just think it would look bad if we draft best available only to bench him and bury Okogie because Wiggins is here. Just for the record, between a Covington/Wiggins pairing, my issue wouldn't be Covington.

Speaking of Covington, he's an UDFA who Philly picked up, developed in G-League, gave him a 4 year deal, watched him turn into an All-NBA first teamer on defense, gave him a nice contract and flipped him for Jimmy Butler.

The Wolves can take a notebook full of notes from the Sixers' on how to develop young talent (Fultz aside, though I never liked him).

Elton Brand has been on the job for 3 months and he's already better than this joke of a front office.

We can let Rose walk. He's going to demand some decent money (if he stays healthy). That'll give PT for Okogie.

Not even close in my eyes. Zach and Markkanen. Covington might be the "best" player right now. But, but he's without a doubt a role player on a contending team type guy. He doesn't handle the ball and create offense at all. He mainly a spot of 3 pt shooter on offense. This team is really bad at the drive and kick game. Something both Saric and Covington have enjoy playing in philly. The other two have much more upside. This moves keeps us in mediocrity.

All of a sudden moving butler is going to make wiggins and towns great? Its crazy how low our expectations are but damn. We back in the lottery and restarting like we hace been since 2004. Embarrassing. Tank for zion or barrett can start now
